Abstract
An outdoor unit 1 for use in an air conditioner, equitioner, equipped with a housing 3 and 4 which consists of side walls and a rear wall both having respective air intake window 12 and a front wall having an air outlet window 11, the inner space of the housing is partitioned by a partition board 10 into a fan room 7 for accommodating a fan for supplying air to an outdoor 8, the heat exchanger 5 is configured in the shape of L extending over the rear air intake window 12b of the housing 3 and 4 as well as the side air intake windows 12a and 12b in the side well, the air outlet window 11 in the front wall 3 is configured in the shape of a right polygon and is provided with a guard 32 which has a grid consisting of longitudinal and transverse ribs 47 and 43, respectively , forming a plurality of rectangular slits 43 between them, the guard 32 is switch able in orientation over the air outlet window 11, so that it can change the orientation of the rectangular slits 43.
