Il presente modello riguarda un tavolo allungabile, secondo la parte generale della rivendicazione 1. Sono noti da tempo dei tavoli allungabili che presentano due porzioni laterali di identiche forme e dimensioni, che, nella posizione accorciata del tavolo, possono essere posti in contatto reciproco lungo il loro bordo trasversale interno; viceversa è previsto che, nella posizione allungata del tavolo, le suddette porzioni scorrono verso l'esterno del tavolo stesso, cosicché tra le suddette viene frapposta una porzione centrale, i cui bordi trasversali esterni vanno a porsi in contatto con i bordi trasversali che precedentemente erano in contatto reciproco delle porzioni laterali di cui sopra .
