The present patent relates to decorative coverings and in particular it concerns fabric, leather, eco-leather coverings with portions in relief.

At this time there is a processing of the coatings on the market that is done by means of electro welds able to compose a weft design.

The effect that the latter produces is not particularly pleasant to the eye and to the touch, in fact it has not been very successful.

The coating object of this patent is more pleasant to the eye and to the touch and can be made with any type of fabric, eco-leather and leather or similar.

This patent relates to a new type of upholstery, leather, eco-leather or similar with reliefs.

The purposes of the new embossed coating are multiple:

- reduce the number of complex and / or expensive processes for its production,

- allow the creation of any design without substantially modifying the operations or tools used,

- have the same surface effect on any point of the coating itself, both in the most prominent parts and in the less important parts.

The new embossed coating includes, in its main parts:

- a first main layer, which constitutes the layer destined to remain external and visible;

- one or more inserts, consisting of generally flat elements having the shapes of the designs to be made;

- a second support layer, consisting of a non-precious fabric of reduced thickness not intended to be visible.

The first main layer is constituted by the layer destined to remain external and visible.

Said first main layer can be any suitable fabric, in plain color, or spun with different colors, or printed with any designs, or in leather or eco-leather.

The insert or inserts are preferably constituted by flat elements of flexible and elastic material having the shape or shapes of the raised areas of the new covering with reliefs. The shapes are preferably made by cutting out semi-rigid elastic material. The second support layer is preferably constituted by a low-quality fabric, and is substantially flat and intended to adhere or rest on the surface to be covered with the new covering with reliefs.

The second support layer performs the function of keeping the insert or inserts correctly positioned by preventing them from moving from their established positions.

The first main layer, the inserts and the second support layer are joined superimposed so that said inserts are included between said first main layer and said second support layer.

The second support layer is substantially continuous, ie it follows the flat or curved shape of the surface on which the new embossed coating is applied.

The new embossed coating thus constituted can be easily applied or arranged on both flat and curved surfaces as the first main layer, the second support layer and the inserts are flexible and can be adapted to the surface on which the new one is applied. coating.

It is possible to provide for the insertion of a third support layer between said second support layer and said inserts.

This third support layer is preferably of greater thickness and / or stiffness than said second support layer so as to give the new coating less flexibility in the area in which said third support layer is present.

The use and presence of said third support layer is particularly useful when the new covering with reliefs is used to make removable covers for padded elements for armchairs, beds and furniture in general.

The procedure for making the new embossed coating is described below.

The second support layer is initially arranged on a flat supporting surface.

The inserts that will form the reliefs of the new coating are prepared. Such inserts can be obtained, for example, by cutting a sheet of semi-rigid plastic rubber.

Each insert is sprinkled on one side with a specific water-resistant elastic adhesive or glue that remains elastic even after drying, and is positioned on the second support layer in the desired arrangement.

The upper surface of the inserts and the visible upper surface of the second support layer are sprinkled with the same adhesive or glue mentioned above.

The first main layer is spread over the inserts and the second support layer so as to completely cover them.

Adequate pressure is exerted making the first main layer adhere completely to the inserts and to the second support layer.

It is possible to intervene along the edges of the inserts with the hands and / or more conveniently with suitable tools, such as a non-cutting wheel or a metal stylus with a rounded tip, so as to ensure the precise adhesion of the first main layer to the lateral edges. of the inserts and to the area of the second perimeter support layer to said inserts.

When the adhesive or glue is completely dried, the second support layer, the inserts and the first main layer are stably united, flexible and constitute the new coating having the reliefs on the top.
