Oggigiorno è noto realizzare calzature sportive, ad esempio per il trekking, le quali sono usualmente costituite da una suola inferiormente associata in corrispondenza di una predisposta tomaia dotata di una coppia di lembi anteriori tra i quali è posizionarle un predisposto linguettone che va a contatto con la zona del dorso del piede e con quella del collo del piede.
