DESCRIPTION

Field of application

The present invention relates to a protective curtain, and to a method for making a protective curtain, according to the preamble of the respective independent claims.

The awning in question is intended to be advantageously used to cover in an adjustable way the openings of buildings such as windows, doors, skylights, and the like, or to close balconies, verandas or other spaces that require shelter from the wind, sun and more generally from the external environment.

This awning is preferably of the type with drop screen, that is intended to close the opening by sliding with vertical movement along the guide rails starting from a winding roller placed above the opening.

It is therefore destined to enter the industrial sector of the production of accessories for the home, in the sector of doors and windows and in the sector of the production of sheets for sheltering from the sun, mosquito nets and similar applications.

State of the art

Today, protective awnings are known on the market designed to close compartments overlooking the exterior of buildings such as doors, windows, loggias, verandas or the like.

In particular, these known protective awnings are equipped with a screen adapted to intercept in a modular way these compartments to shade and / or protect the room or the space inside the openings from bad weather.

These protective curtains generally comprise a support frame capable of being fixed to a support structure of the protective curtain, such as for example masonry walls, and in turn comprising two or more longitudinal members extended along longitudinal parallel directions to delimit between them at least one opening of the corresponding compartment.

The side members are traditionally made of metal profiles and arranged vertically.

It is known that such protection curtains also comprise at least one flexible screen mounted on the frame in order to intercept in a modular way the opening, or openings, delimited by the longitudinal members.

The screen is made of a first material, substantially transparent, which has a first rigidity, and which in particular is traditionally made of a first plastic material which mainly comprises polyvinyl chloride and plasticizers to make the screen flexible and therefore easy to roll onto the roller.

Generally a screen recovery device is fixed to one end of the side members, above the opening that they delimit.

In particular, the recovery device traditionally comprises a roller rotatable around its axis which is transverse to the longitudinal members.

An upper edge of the screen is attached to the roller, which on the same roller can be rolled up to store it in the recovery device, or the screen from the roller can be unwound to extend it from the recovery device.

As is known, the screen is also equipped with a terminal edge, having a longitudinal development transversal to the longitudinal members, and lateral edges having a longitudinal extension parallel to the longitudinal members.

These known protective curtains generally comprise an extension bar rigidly connected to the terminal edge of the screen.

This extension bar is engaged at the ends to slide guided along the side members to drag the screen, guiding it along the side members.

It is known to provide fastening means which rigidly connect the terminal edge of the screen to the extension bar.

In addition, these awnings include longitudinal borders that surmount the lateral edges to which they are rigidly fixed along the entire longitudinal extension of the lateral edges.

Traditionally, longitudinal edges have a tensile stiffness that is greater than the tensile stiffness of the side edges, thus reinforcing them.

More specifically, the longitudinal borders generally consist of

- a ribbon-like body, generally made of cloth tape, fixed to the lateral edges of the screen, for example by stapling, or alternatively by gluing,

- anchoring means suitable for the mechanical coupling of the web-like body to the side members.

The side members are known internally provided with grooves which extend along their length and are open on the opening delimited by the side members.

Furthermore, the longitudinal members include guides housed in the slots, and blocks for retaining the guides in the slots, to prevent the guides from being extracted from the slots.

The anchoring means traditionally comprise a flexible toothing which extends along the ribbon-like body and engages the guides in sliding relationship along the longitudinal development of the longitudinal members.

In an alternative known variant of the anchoring means and guides, the anchoring means comprise, instead of the flexible toothing, a ribbon-like sheet glued along the ribbon-like body and mechanically coupled, in sliding relationship, along the longitudinal development of the longitudinal members, in guides housed in the side members and conformed to it.

In particular, then, the screen has a width, transversal to the side members, which is greater than the distance between the same side members, so the side edges of the screen enter the slots of the side members.

The extension bar, on the other hand, has a length that is substantially equal to the distance between the side members.

In a first known version of these curtains, the means for fixing the dragging bar to the terminal edge of the screen comprise a transverse border made substantially in the first material in which the terminal edge is made and therefore in the first plastic material and in particular in polyvinyl chloride and plasticizers.

In particular, the transverse edging is made of the same first plastic material used to make the terminal edge, so as to have the same softening point and therefore be easily weldable.

The transverse edging traditionally comprises a first part, ribbon-like, which is rigidly fixed to the terminal edge and a second part, substantially cylindrical or tubular, which engages a shaped receiving seat provided inside the extension bar.

The first part of the transverse border in a known way is fixed to the terminal edge for its entire length, which is equal to the width of the screen, and therefore up to the corners of the screen, which are defined by the meeting between its edge transverse and its lateral edges.

The second part of the transverse skirt generally has a slightly shorter length than the extension bar so that it can be completely housed in the receiving seat.

In this way, traditionally the second part of the transverse border is shorter than the first part of the transverse border and is centered with respect to its length.

It is also known that the first part has free end portions from the second part and fixed to the corners of the screen.

The longitudinal borders are generally fixed to the lateral edges of the screen also up to the corners.

In particular, in correspondence with the corners of the screen, the longitudinal borders are fixed to the terminal portions of the transverse border, thereby forming, in a known way, a frame for the screen.

Thus, the weight of the extension bar, which rests on the transverse border, is transmitted from this to the longitudinal borders to unload the screen.

However, the protective curtains, in this first version, have a drawback which consists in the fact that the transversal border, being in the same first plastic material used to make the screen, has a rigidity substantially equal to that of the terminal edge of the screen and is not therefore able to keep it stretched under the load of the extension bar.

Thus, in fact, the transverse edging tends to flex together with the terminal edge of the screen under the load of the extension bar, forming wrinkles along the same terminal edge.

A similar effect of wrinkling along the terminal edge of the screen is induced by the thermal deformation and the hygroscopic deformation of the transverse border and the terminal edge of the screen.

Furthermore, the terminal portions of the first part of the transversal border transmit the load of the extension bar to the longitudinal borders, and as a result of this load they tend to deform, inducing the formation of folds that extend radially from the corners of the screen towards its central part. .

Such creases are particularly unwanted due to the detriment they cause to the aesthetics of the screen.

In a second known version of these curtains, the transverse edging differs from that of the first known version in that the second part of the transverse edging also extends, together with the first part, for the entire length of the terminal edge, and is therefore also present at the corners of the screen.

Thus, the terminal sections of the first part are strengthened by corresponding extremal parts of the second part of the transverse border.

A further known difference with respect to the first version consists in the fact that the extension bar has a length substantially equal to the width of the screen, and is equipped with terminals provided with male elements that fit into the slots of the side members in sliding ratio along the side members themselves.

Furthermore, the receiving seat in the extension bar extends up to the inside of the male elements which thus house the extremal parts of the second part of the transverse skirt.

In this way, the extension bar is supported by the cross border even at the corners of the screen.

In this way, the terminal portions, of the first part of the transverse border, are strengthened by the extremal portions, of the second part, and by the male elements which receive the latter.

Thus, the deformation of the terminal portions is prevented which causes the folds that occur in the first known version described.

Furthermore, unlike the first version, the protective curtains according to the known second version comprise tensioning screws for the transverse border.

These screws are traditionally carried by the ends of the extension bar and axially engage the second part of the transverse skirt.

Thus, by screwing these screws into the transverse flange, this is pulled along the extension bar, so as to smooth out the wrinkles that tend to form due to the load of the tensioning bar or due to thermal and / or hygroscopic deformations of the terminal edge. of the screen and the end skirting.

Although appreciable, also this known second version of the described protection curtains has unwanted drawbacks.

In particular, it is deprecated that, in order to insert the male elements of the extension bar inside the side members, they are bulky.

Furthermore, the tensioning of the transversal edging designed to avoid the formation of wrinkles along the terminal edge of the screen, being modulated by screwing in the screws, is dedicated to a particular stress condition of the transverse edging and the terminal edge.

Thus, as the temperature, humidity and load conditions vary, the tensioning loses its effectiveness and in any case wrinkles tend to form along the terminal edge of the screen due, for example, to the gradual plastic yielding of the transverse edging.

Presentation of the invention

The problem underlying the present invention consists in obviating the drawbacks of known curtains by providing a protective curtain which allows to avoid the formation of undesired wrinkles along the edge of the screen connected to the transverse border.

Within the scope of this aim, a particular object of the present invention is to propose a curtain which allows to avoid the formation of the radial folds that now form extending from the lower corners of the screens of some models of curtains known today.

Another object of the invention is to provide a curtain which allows to keep the screen extended and free from creases or other deformations.

A further object of the invention is to provide a structurally simple protection curtain, easy to use and which can be produced at relatively low costs.

Another object of the invention is to propose a method for manufacturing a curtain which allows to obtain in a simple way a curtain capable of avoiding the formation of wrinkles on the screen in correspondence with its joining edge to the transverse border.

These objects, as well as other objects which will become clearer hereinafter, are achieved by a protective curtain according to the attached claims.

Brief description of the drawings

The technical characteristics of the invention, according to the proposed aim and objects, are clearly verifiable from the content of the claims reported below and the advantages thereof will become more evident in the detailed description of an embodiment of a protective curtain according to the invention, illustrated below. illustrative and non-limiting title, in the joined drawing tables in which:

Detailed description of a preferred embodiment example With reference to the accompanying drawings, the reference number 10 globally indicates a protective curtain according to the present invention.

The protective awning 10 is preferably intended to be used to cover the openings of buildings in a modular way, such as windows, doors, skylights, and the like, or to cover balconies, verandas or other spaces for which shelter is appreciated. direct sunlight or bad weather.

Furthermore, the protective curtain 10 is advantageously designed to close in a modular way an opening A, such as in particular the compartment of a door, a window or the like, obtained on a wall or on another load-bearing structure of a building, such as that of a veranda, a loggia, a terrace or other similar structures.

The protective awning 10 comprises a support frame which in turn comprises at least two longitudinal members 11 extending along parallel longitudinal development directions and which are advantageously made with metal profiles, for example in aluminum, advantageously placed vertically.

The side members 11 are suitably placed to laterally delimit opening A. Furthermore, the present protection curtain 10 comprises at least one flexible screen 12 mounted on the frame and capable of intercepting opening A in a modular manner.

According to the implementation requirements of the present invention, the screen can conveniently be made of synthetic fiber fabric or natural fiber, possibly covered to be made waterproof.

Furthermore, the screen 12 can conveniently be made of a plastic film.

The screen 12 may also advantageously be transparent or translucent. Alternatively, the screen 12, for shading, will preferably be opaque.

The present protective awning 10 is preferably of the type with drop screen 12, i.e. intended to close opening A by sliding with a substantially vertical movement along the side members 11 starting from a winding roller placed above opening A.

In particular, the protective awning 10 advantageously comprises a pair of longitudinal members 11 and a single screen 12 extensible between them in a modulable way, as illustrated by way of non-limiting example in Figure 1.

However, without departing from the scope of protection of the present patent, a protection awning implemented according to a variant embodiment of the present invention may comprise a series of longitudinal members installed in correspondence with the opening to be closed, so as to divide it into a plurality of successive compartments, each delimited laterally by two side members.

In said variant embodiment, the protective curtain will correspondingly comprise a plurality of screens, each designed to close a corresponding compartment in a modular manner.

Conveniently, the protective curtain 10 comprises, in a traditional way, a recovery device 13, suitable for housing a part of the screen 12 which during use is not extended between the longitudinal members 11.

The recovery device 13 is conveniently fixed to a preferably upper end of the longitudinal members 11, and advantageously comprises the screen winding roller 12, which is itself well known to the skilled in the art and therefore not further described here. nor illustrated in the attached drawings.

More in detail, the screen 12 is equipped with a terminal edge 14, suitably opposite to an upper edge of the screen 12, for fastening to said roller, and having a longitudinal development transversal to the longitudinal members 11.

The screen 12 is conveniently made of a single piece and its terminal edge 14 advantageously constitutes a peripheral part thereof.

However, depending on the implementation needs of the present invention, without departing from the scope of protection of the present patent, the screen 12 may suitably be composite and therefore comprise a central part on the periphery of which at least a section of ribbon-like element will be rigidly fixed defining the terminal edge 14.

In particular, the terminal edge 14 has a first stiffness and is made of a first material having a first stiffness.

By stiffness we mean the mechanical resistance that a body opposes to deform when it is subjected to mechanical stress.

Furthermore, by rigidity of a material that constitutes a body, it is meant the mechanical resistance that this material opposes to the deformation of this body subjected to mechanical stress.

Therefore, a first material constituting a first body has a lower rigidity than that of a second material constituting a second body, when the first body deforms more than the second body with the same shape and size of the bodies and with the same mechanical constraints and of stress to the same applied bodies.

The protective awning 10 also comprises an extension bar 15 which at its ends is engaged in guiding sliding along the longitudinal members 11, as more fully described below.

Furthermore, the extension bar 15 is rigidly connected to the terminal edge 14 of the screen 12.

Conveniently, the extension bar 15 is made of a metal profile, advantageously of aluminum.

In particular, the extension bar 15 is advantageously perpendicular to the side members 11 and plays the role of dragging the screen 12 between the side members 11, preferably holding it uniformly along the terminal edge 14.

Furthermore, one task of the extension bar 15 is conveniently to keep the part of the screen 12 extended between the side members 11 stretched out during use.

In particular, in a traditional way well known to the skilled in the art and therefore not further described or illustrated here, the extension bar 15 is preferably loaded with ballast, so as to exert a traction force on the screen 12, for gravity.

Conveniently, this ballast is distributed substantially uniformly along the extension bar 15 so as to stretch the screen 12 substantially uniformly along its terminal edge 14.

It is clear that, without departing from the scope of protection of the present patent, when a protection curtain is made according to the present invention, which has a plurality of screens, it will advantageously comprise a plurality of extension bars, each of these being fixed to the terminal edge of each corresponding screen.

The protective curtain 10 also comprises fixing means which rigidly connect the extension bar 15 to the terminal edge 14 of the screen 12.

In particular, the protective curtain 10 has a particular peculiarity in that said fixing means comprise at least one transverse border 16 comprising a structural portion 17 which has a second stiffness and is made of a second material having a second stiffness.

The structural portion 17 surmounts the terminal edge 14 to which it is rigidly fixed along substantially the entire prevailing extension of the terminal edge 14, as explained in more detail below.

At the same time, the transverse edging 16 is mechanically coupled to the extension bar 15, so as to interconnect it to the screen 12.

Said second stiffness, of the structural portion 17, is greater than said first stiffness, of the terminal edge 14.

Thus, the structural portion 17 has a greater mechanical resistance to deformations than the terminal edge 14.

Furthermore, said second rigidity is greater than said first rigidity.

Therefore, the second material, of construction of the structural portion 17, has a greater resistance to deformation than the first material, which forms the terminal edge 14, that is, it tends to deform less when it is subjected to mechanical stress.

In this way, when the terminal edge 14 is subjected to stresses that tend to deform it, for example when during the use of the protective curtain 10 the screen 12 is hit by a gust of wind or is subjected to another substantially similar stress, the terminal edge 14, being rigidly fixed to the structural portion 17, is thereby reinforced and therefore more resistant to deformation.

Furthermore, the extension bar 15, particularly if it is ballasted, stresses the screen 12 in longitudinal traction.

As is known, the longitudinal traction of a body tends to induce a transverse contraction, so the screen 12 tends to contract transversely due to the longitudinal traction exerted by the extension bar 15.

This phenomenon, well known to those skilled in the art, induces, in known curtains, the formation of wrinkles along the terminal edge of the screen.

In the protective awning 10, on the other hand, the structural portion 17 reinforces the terminal edge 14 since it is more rigid with respect to the latter and is rigidly fixed thereto.

In fact, the structural portion 17 keeps the terminal edge 14 stretched, counteracting its contraction, and therefore counteracting its deformation which would form unwanted wrinkles.

Furthermore, the first material, which forms the terminal edge 14 of the screen 12, has a first thermal expansion and the second material, which forms the structural portion 17, has a second thermal expansion which is advantageously smaller than said first thermal expansion.

In this way, as the ambient temperature varies, the structural portion 17 deforms less than the terminal edge 14 would deform if it were free from the structural portion 17.

The terminal edge 14 is held by the structural portion 17, this being rigidly fixed to the terminal edge 14, and therefore its deformation is limited by the structural portion 17 which holds it.

Thus, the terminal edge 14 is suitably prevented by the structural portion 17 from deforming, in particular according to its longitudinal development, and the formation of wrinkles along the terminal edge 14 which instead form in the curtains known today when varying of the ambient temperature.

Furthermore, said first material preferably has a first hygroscopicity and said second material has a second hygroscopicity lower than said first hygroscopicity.

Thus, even as the ambient humidity varies, the structural portion 17 deforms less than the terminal edge 14 would deform if it were free from the structural portion 17.

The structural portion 17 in fact appropriately holds the terminal edge 14, being rigidly fixed to it, so as to prevent its deformation due to the variation in ambient humidity, and consequently preventing the formation of wrinkles that would be generated by this deformation.

In general, therefore, the structural portion 17 suitably reinforces the terminal edge 14 and holds it back, preventing it from deforming both as a result of mechanical and thermal stresses and due to the absorption of environmental humidity.

Thus, the structural portion 17 advantageously limits the formation of wrinkles along the terminal edge 14.

More in detail, the screen 12 is suitably equipped with lateral edges 18 having a first tensile stiffness and a longitudinal extension substantially parallel to the side members 11.

The protective awning 10 conveniently further comprises longitudinal edges 19 which overlap the lateral edges 18 to which they are rigidly fixed substantially along the entire longitudinal extension of the lateral edges 18.

The longitudinal edges 19 have a second tensile stiffness which is preferably greater than the first tensile stiffness of the lateral edges 18, so as to reinforce them.

In fact, the longitudinal edges 19 being suitably more rigid than the lateral edges 18 to which they are rigidly fixed, keep them from deforming, for example under the load of the extension bar 15 which tensile stresses the screen 12.

More particularly, the longitudinal edges 19 conveniently comprise - a ribbon-like body 20, preferably of cloth tape, fixed to the side edges 18 of the screen 12, for example by stapling, or alternatively by welding or gluing,

- anchoring means 21 suitable for the mechanical coupling of the ribbon-like body 18 to the side members 11.

The side members 11 are advantageously internally provided with slots 22 which extend along their length and are open on the opening A delimited by the side members 11.

Furthermore, the longitudinal members 11 comprise guides 23, provided with a slot 23a, housed in the slots 22, and blocks 24 for retaining the guides 23 in the slots 22, to prevent the guides 23 from being extracted from the slots 22.

The anchoring means 21 conveniently comprise a flexible toothing 25 which extends along the ribbon-like body 20 and engages the guides 23 in sliding ratio along the longitudinal development of the longitudinal members 11.

Furthermore, the slot 23a is conveniently engaged by the ribbon-like body 20 of the longitudinal edges 18, slidingly along the longitudinal development of the longitudinal members 11.

Advantageously, the slot 23a has an opening greater than the thickness of the ribbon-like body 20 and less than the thickness of the flexible toothing 25 to retain it in the guide 23.

In an alternative embodiment of the anchoring means 21 and of the guides 23, per se known to the skilled in the art and therefore not herein described in detail nor illustrated in the attached figures, the anchoring means instead comprise flexible teeth a ribbon-like sheet fixed along the ribbon-like body and mechanically coupled, in sliding relationship along the longitudinal development of the longitudinal members, in guides conformed thereto, housed in the longitudinal members.

Therefore, one function of the longitudinal edges 18 is suitably that of retaining the lateral edges 18 to the side members, by means of the anchoring means 21.

Furthermore, a further function of the longitudinal edges 18 conveniently is that of guiding the lateral edges 18 of the screen 12 along the side members, thanks to the sliding of the flexible toothing 25 in the guides 23.

In particular, then, the screen 12 advantageously has a width, transversal to the side members 11, which is greater than the distance between the side members 11.

Thus the lateral edges 18 of the screen 12 are suitably internal to the longitudinal members 11, and conveniently inserted in the slots 22.

The extension bar 15, on the other hand, preferably has a length which is substantially equal to the distance between the side members 11.

Returning to the screen 12, it advantageously has angles 26 defined by the meeting of its lateral edges 18 and of its terminal edge 14.

Advantageously, the structural portion 17 of the transverse skirt 16 has first ends 17a and the longitudinal borders 19 have second ends 19a.

The first ends 17a, the second ends 19a and the corners 26 are advantageously mutually rigidly connected.

In particular, preferably, the angles 26 have

- first faces 26a on which the first ends 17a of the structural portion 17 are fixed, e

- second faces 26b, opposite to the first faces 26a, on which second faces 26b are fixed the second ends 19a of the longitudinal edges 19.

Thus, in particular, the corners 26 of the screen 12 are advantageously interleaved between the first ends 17a of the structural portion 17 and the second ends 19a of the longitudinal edges 19.

In this way, the first ends 17a and the second ends 19a suitably overlap and overlap the corners 26, rigidly connecting the longitudinal edges 19 to the structural portion 17 of the transverse edge 15.

The screen 12 is therefore advantageously framed by the longitudinal borders 19 and by the transverse border 15, which, being suitably more rigid than the screen 12, keep it extended and free of folds or wrinkles.

Therefore, one function of the longitudinal edges 18 is advantageously to avoid the stretching deformation of the lateral edges 18 of the screen 12, for example under the load of the extension bar 15.

More in detail, the transverse edging 16 advantageously comprises a first part 27 which is substantially ribbon-like and fixed to the terminal edge 14 of the screen 12, advantageously by welding as more fully described below.

Conveniently, the first part 27 is provided with the structural portion 17 which advantageously extends along its entire length.

Furthermore, the transverse skirt 16 conveniently also comprises a second part 28, preferably substantially cylindrical or tubular, extending along the first part 27 and mechanically coupled to the extension bar 15.

In particular, preferably the second part 28 protrudes beyond the terminal edge 14 of the screen 12, to which the terminal edge 14 is rigidly fixed the first part 27. The extension bar 15 is suitably equipped internally with a receiving seat 29 provided with a slot 30 open towards the outside of the extension bar 15, and in particular suitably turned towards the recovery device 13.

The receiving seat 29, and conveniently also its slot 30, advantageously extend substantially for the entire length of the extension bar 15.

Furthermore, the receiving seat 29 is conveniently engaged by the second part 28 of the transverse skirt 16, to anchor the transverse skirt 16 to the extension bar 15.

The first part 27 of the transverse skirt 16 conveniently projects externally to the extension bar 15, suitably through the slot 30.

Advantageously, the slot 30 has an opening width smaller than the thickness of the second part 28 of the transverse rim 16, in order to retain the same second part 28 in the receiving seat 29.

In particular, advantageously, the second part 28 of the transverse edging 16 and the receiving seat 29 are shaped one to the other to allow easy insertion of the second part 28 into the receiving seat during the assembly of the protective curtain 10.

More in detail, the terminal edge 14 of the screen 12 preferably has a longer length than the extension bar 15, to extend laterally from this to the side members 11 where the screen 12 is guided by the longitudinal edges 19 slidingly coupled to the guides 23, as already extensively described.

The extension bar 15 advantageously comprises a rod-shaped body 31, which is suitably a metal section, provided with the receiving seat 29 and equipped with longitudinal ends 31a.

Furthermore, the extension bar 15 conveniently comprises terminals 32 fixed to the longitudinal ends 31a suitably by means of screws, and having through cuts 33 aligned with the slot 30 of the receiving seat 29, to receive in insertion the first part of the transversal rim 16.

The terminals 32 are advantageously coupled slidingly along the side members 11, suitably to guide the extension bar 15 along the side members 11 and with it the screen 12 whose terminal edge 14 is fixed to the extension bar 15 itself.

For this purpose, the longitudinal members 11 are longitudinally provided with sliding seats 11a advantageously lateral and parallel to the slots 22, and the terminals 32 are conveniently provided with fins 34 suitably shaped to the sliding seats 11a to be inserted therein in a sliding relationship along the side members 11.

The first part 27 of the transverse skirt 16 conveniently has a length substantially equal to the terminal edge 14 to which it is rigidly fixed.

On the other hand, the second part 28 of the transverse skirt 16 conveniently has a length substantially equal to the rod-like body 31 of the extension bar 15, and therefore shorter than the length of the first part 27.

Furthermore, the second part 28 is suitably substantially centered along the first part 27, which thus advantageously has end portions 35 free from the second part 28.

The through cuts 33 advantageously have an opening width smaller than the thickness of the second part 28 of the transverse rim 16 and substantially greater than the thickness of its first part 27, to allow passage through the through cuts 33 of the first part 27 and instead prevent the passage of the second part 28.

Thus, the terminal portions 35 of the first part 27 advantageously protrude from the terminals 32 of the extension bar 15 through the through cuts 33 and suitably fit into the slots 22 where they surmount the corners 26 of the screen 13 to which they are fixed.

In this way, the first part 27 of the transverse skirt 16, which includes the rigid structural part 17, accompanies the terminal edge 14 of the screen 12, in addition to the terminals 32 of the extension bar 15, suitably up to inside the slots 22 of the side members 11, where the first ends 17a, of the structural part 17 and the second ends 19a of the longitudinal edges 19 are joined.

In this way, the terminal edge 14 is suitably stiffened by the first part 27 whose terminal sections 35 suitably act as a structural bridge between

- the second part 28 of the transverse skirt 16, to which the extension bar is hung, e

- the longitudinal edges 19.

This, thanks to the fact that the first part 27 of the transverse skirt 16 conveniently comprises the structural part 17 of which the first ends 17a are advantageously rigidly connected to the second ends 19a of the longitudinal borders 19.

In this way it is possible to make the longitudinal members 11 substantially thin, since they do not have to receive in insertion ends of the second part 28 of the transverse skirt 16, which is conveniently bulky to mechanically couple with the housing 29 of the extension bar 15 to keep it fixed to the screen 12.

More particularly, preferably the structural portion 17 is substantially ribbon-like and is provided with a connecting face 36 which is fixed to the terminal edge 14 of the screen 12 preferably as more fully explained below.

The screen 12 is preferably transparent, furthermore it is conveniently made of a first plastic material having a first softening point, preferably said first plastic material comprising mainly polyvinyl chloride and plasticizers.

The transverse skirt 16 advantageously comprises a functional portion 37 provided with an interconnection part 38 interleaved between the connecting face 36 and the terminal edge 14 to connect them reciprocally.

For this purpose, the interconnection part 38 is advantageously made of a second plastic material having a second softening point close to said first softening point, in order to be welded to the first plastic material for making the terminal edge 14.

The interconnection part 38 is also suitably welded, preferably at high frequency, to the terminal edge 14 and intimately and rigidly adhered to the connection face 36, suitably by co-extrusion of the structural portion 17 with the functional portion 37.

Thus, the interconnection part 38 advantageously mutually and rigidly fixes the structural portion 17, with which it is suitably co-extruded, to the terminal edge 14 to which it is conveniently welded.

Preferably also said second plastic material mainly comprises polyvinyl chloride and plasticizers, in order to be easily welded to said first plastic material.

Advantageously, the structural portion 17 is made of a third plastic material, preferably substantially pure polyvinyl chloride, in this way the structural portion 17 is easily co-extrudable with the functional portion 37, also suitably comprising polyvinyl chloride.

A process for manufacturing a protective curtain 10 conveniently comprises a step for manufacturing a screen 12 conveniently in a first plastic material which is preferably transparent and advantageously comprises mainly polyvinyl chloride and plasticizers.

Therefore, said method for making a protective curtain 10 comprises - a step for forming the transverse edging 16 and

- a step of fixing the transversal edge 16 to the terminal edge 14 of the screen 12, which terminal edge 14 is made of said first plastic material having a first softening point.

According to the present invention, the forming step comprises co-extruding the functional portion 37 in a second plastic material, with the structural portion 17 in a third plastic material.

Said second plastic material has a second softening point substantially equal to the first softening point of said first plastic material, suitably to allow easy mutual welding thereof.

Furthermore, preferably said second plastic material mainly comprises polyvinyl chloride and plasticizers, and advantageously is transparent or translucent.

Furthermore, said second plastic material has a first stiffness and said third plastic material has a second stiffness which is greater than said first stiffness to give greater resistance to deformation to the structural portion 17.

Advantageously, said forming step comprises forming the interconnection portion 38 co-extruded with the structural portion 17.

Furthermore, said forming step advantageously comprises the contextual forming of the second part 28 of the transverse skirt 16 which is suitably extruded integral with the interconnection portion 38.

Said fixing step, according to the present invention, comprises reciprocally welding the functional portion 37 and the terminal edge 14 suitably by means of high frequency welding and preferably along substantially the entire length of the terminal edge 14.

The process for making a protective curtain 10 also conveniently comprises a step of fixing the longitudinal edges 19 to the lateral edges 18 of the screen 12, suitably by stapling, or by gluing or by welding, preferably at high frequency.

Furthermore, said method conveniently comprises a step of fixing the longitudinal members 11 to a wall or other support structure and a step of coupling the screen 12 with the recovery device 13, in a per se known manner and therefore not further described.

Said method also advantageously provides for a step for coupling the longitudinal edges 19 to the longitudinal members 11 which is also traditional in itself and therefore not further described.

Furthermore, said process conveniently also comprises a step of mechanical connection of the transverse skirt 16 to the extension bar 15, which advantageously provides

- inserting the second part 28 of the transverse skirt 16 in the housing 29 of the rod body 31 of the extension bar 15, and

- fastening, suitably by means of screws, the terminals 32 to the longitudinal ends 31a of the rod-shaped body 31, suitably locking the second part 28 inside the rod-shaped body 31, so as to obtain an effective mechanical coupling of the extension bar 15 to the transverse edging 16.

Furthermore, said method advantageously comprises coupling the extension bar 15 to the side members 11 advantageously by inserting the fins 34 of the terminals 32 in the sliding seats 11a of the side members 11.

In practice it has been found that a protective curtain and its manufacturing process, according to the invention, achieve the intended aim and objects.

Obviously, in its practical embodiment, it may also assume forms and configurations other than those described above and illustrated in the attached drawings, without thereby departing from the present scope of protection.

Furthermore, all the details can be replaced by technically equivalent elements and the dimensions, shapes and materials used, as long as they are compatible with the specific purpose, can be any according to the needs.

Claims (12)

R I V E N D I C A Z I O N I 1. Protective curtain (10), which includes: - a support frame comprising at least two longitudinal members (11) extending along longitudinal directions parallel and delimiting an opening (A) between them; - at least one flexible screen (12) mounted on said frame, equipped with an end edge (14) having a first stiffness and made of a first material having a first stiffness, having a longitudinal extension transversal to said side members (11), and susceptible to intercept said opening (A) in a modulable way; - at least one extension bar (15) at the ends engaged in guiding sliding along said longitudinal members (11), rigidly connected to the terminal edge (14) of said at least one screen (12); - fixing means for rigidly connecting said at least one extension bar (15) to the terminal edge (14) of said at least one screen (12); characterized in that said fixing means comprise at least one transverse border (16) comprising a structural portion (17) having a second stiffness and made of a second material having a second stiffness, said structural portion (17) surmounting the terminal edge (14 ) of said at least one screen (12) and being rigidly fixed to said terminal edge (14) substantially along its entire prevailing development, said second stiffness being greater than said first stiffness and said second stiffness greater than said first stiffness, to avoid deformations of said terminal edge (14) along said prevalent extension. 2. Protective curtain, according to claim 1, characterized in that said first material has a first thermal expansion and that said second material has a second thermal expansion smaller than said first thermal expansion. 3. Protective curtain, according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said first material has a first hygroscopicity and said second material has a second hygroscopicity lower than said first hygroscopicity. 4. Protective tent, according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that - said at least one screen (12) is equipped with lateral edges (18) having a first tensile stiffness and a longitudinal extension parallel to said longitudinal members (11), - said protective awning comprises longitudinal edges (19) surmounted and rigidly fixed to said lateral edges (18) substantially along their entire longitudinal extension, said longitudinal edges (19) having a second tensile stiffness greater than the first tensile stiffness of said lateral edges (18), - said at least one screen (12) has angles (26) defined by the meeting of its lateral edges (18) and its terminal edge (14), said structural portion (17) has first ends and said longitudinal edges (19) they have second extremities, being said first extremities, said second extremities and said angles (26) mutually rigidly connected. 5. Protective curtain, according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said at least one transversal border (16) comprises - a first substantially ribbon-like part (27) provided with said structural portion (17) and fixed to the terminal edge (14) of said at least one screen (12), - a second part (28) extending along said first part (27) and mechanically coupled to said at least one extension bar (15), being said extension bar (15) internally equipped with a receiving seat (29) provided with a slot (30) open towards the outside of said at least one extension bar (15), being said receiving seat (29) extending substantially for the entire length of said at least one extension bar (15) and engaged by said second part (28), said first part (27) being projecting externally to said slot (30) and having said slot (30) a ™ opening width smaller than the thickness of said second part (28), to retain it in said receiving seat (29). 6. Protective curtain, according to claim 5, characterized in that - the terminal edge (14) of said at least one screen (12) has a greater length than said at least one extension bar (15), which comprises - a rod-shaped body (31), provided with said receiving seat (29) and provided with longitudinal ends (31a), and - terminals (32) fixed to said longitudinal ends (31a), slidingly coupled along said longitudinal members (11), and having through cuts (33) aligned with the slot (30) of said receiving seat (29), - the first part (27) of said at least one transverse skirt (16) has a length substantially equal to said terminal edge (14) and said second part (28) has a length substantially equal to the rod-shaped body (31) of said at least one bar extension (15), being said second part (28) substantially centered along said first part (27), which has terminal portions (35) free from said second part (28), - said through cuts (33) have a opening width smaller than the thickness of said second part (28) and substantially greater than the thickness of said first part (27), since the end portions (35) of said first part (27) protrude from said at least one extension bar (15 ) through the through cuts (33) of said terminals (32). 7. Protective tent, according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that - said structural portion (17) is substantially ribbon-like and equipped with a connecting face (36) fixed to the terminal edge (14) of said at least one screen (12), which is made of a first plastic material having a first point softening, - said at least one transverse edge (16) comprises a functional portion (37) provided with an interconnection part (38) interleaved between said connection face (36) and said terminal edge (14), being said interconnection part (38) in a second plastic material having a second softening point close to said first softening point, in order to be welded to the first plastic material of realization of said terminal edge (14), said interconnection part (38) being intimately and rigidly attached to said connection face (36) is welded to said terminal edge (14). 8. Protective curtain, according to claim 7, characterized in that said first plastic material and said second plastic material mainly comprise polyvinyl chloride and plasticizers. 9. Protective curtain, according to any one of claims 7 and 8, characterized in that said structural portion (17) is made of a third plastic material. 10. Protection tent, according to claim 9, characterized in that said structural portion (17) and said functional portion (37) are co-extruded one on the other. 11. Process for manufacturing a protective curtain according to claim 1, comprising - a step of forming said at least one transversal border (16) and - a step of fixing said at least one transversal edge (16) to said terminal edge (14) of said at least one screen (12), said terminal edge (14) being made of a first plastic material having a first softening point, characterized in that said forming step comprises co-extruding - a functional portion (37) in a second plastic material having a second softening point substantially equal to said first softening point, said second plastic material having a first rigidity, - with said structural portion (17) in a third plastic material having a second rigidity greater than said first rigidity, said fixing step comprising mutually welding said functional portion (37) and said terminal edge (14). 12. Process for making a protective curtain according to claim 11, characterized in that said welding step is carried out by high-frequency welding of said functional portion (37) with said terminal edge (14).
