Lo strato 4 è a sua volta annegato in uno terzo strato 5 ad alto spessore di resina trasparente, applicata allo stato fluido mediante una macchina velatrice e successivamente indurito per reticolazione mediante catalizzatori. Il terzo strato 5 è applicato sul secondo con uno spessore medio compreso tra 1,2 e 3 mm. E preferibilmente con uno spessore medio di circa 1,5 mm. Lo spessore dipende dal tipo di destinazione del pannello e dal decoro sottostante. E' altresì previsto che lo strato di decoro 4 possa essere incorporato nel terzo strato 5. Per ottenere effetti decorativi speciali, in particolare effetti tridimensionali, lo strato di rivestimento a resina 5 può presentare impressioni di forme, impronte o simili tutte indicate con 6.
