Abstract
Un generatore di impulsi ottici comprende una sorgente di segnali. (1), una sorgente luminosa d'eccitazione (2), una prima fibra ottica (1A) una prima lente (8F), un reticolo di diffrazione (10), una seconda lente (8E), una seconda fibra ottica (3) e un commutatore ottico (4). I fasci di segnali prodotti dalla sorgente di segnali vengono trasmessi attraverso la prima fibra ottica, la prima lente, il reticolo di diffrazione e la seconda lente alternativamente, così da emettere selettivamente un fascio di segnali di lunghezza d'onda desiderata. Questo fascio di segnali viene fatto convergere ed è incidente su una parte terminale della seconda fibra ottica che viene eccitata da un fascio d'eccitazione prodotto dalla sorgente luminosa. Al funzionamento del commutatore ottico, la parte terminale della seconda fibra ottica viene fatta vibrare, risultando nella periodica apertura e chiusura di un cammino ottico formato tra la prima e la seconda fibra ottica. Pertanto, un impulso ottico di ampiezza e durata controllate viene emesso dalla seconda fibra ottica. Preferibilmente, la seconda fibra ottica é costituita da un materiale predeterminato che include un materiale delle terre rare.
