L’invenzione si colloca nell’ambito dell’arredo urbano ed in particolare tra i sistemi di seduta, quali panchine o simili. The invention is placed in the field of street furniture and in particular among seating systems, such as benches or the like.

In particolare, oggetto dell’invenzione è una panchina a scomparsa, che si caratterizza come un sistema di seduta retrattile che consiste in un elemento mobile che scompare nel terreno lasciando l’area totalmente libera per utilizzi diversi. Il dispositivo è stato ideato per risolvere un problema molto comune legato alla necessità di un utilizzo flessibile degli spazi pedonali, come ad esempio le piazze. Spesso gli spazi aperti non vengono attrezzati con sistemi dì seduta fissi (panchine) perché ciò non consente l'utilizzo dello spazio per attività diverse, come ad esempio mercato, spettacoli, sagre, ecc. Tale problematica costringe a creare spazi liberi non attrezzati che non consentono di caratterizzare gli spazi aperti pubblici come luoghi di sosta e di aggregazione sociale. L’utilizzo di panchine appoggiate a terra senza fissaggio non può essere risolutivo del problema, per le evidenti difficoltà legate alla movimentazione in caso di necessità, nonché alla possibilità di furti o atti vandalici. Attraverso l’utilizzo delle panchine a scomparsa, invece, si possono salvaguardare entrambe le esigenze, progettando gli spazi aperti pedonali quali piazze, zone pedonali e spazi multifunzionali come piacevoli luoghi di incontro e socializzazione dove le persone possano sedersi e sostare, garantendo al contempo la possibilità di trasformarli, ail’occorrenza, in ampi spazi liberi destinabili alle più diverse attività, come ad esempio il mercato settimanale o il cinema all’aperto... In base alle ricerche svolte e all'esperienza maturata nello svolgimento dell’attività professionale di architetto non risulta esistere una panchina con queste caratteristiche. Viceversa esistono in commercio dispositivi a scomparsa, come i dissuasori di accesso o le colonnine di distribuzione di energia elettrica o servizi vari, che sfruttano lo stesso principio ma sono destinati a utilizzi diversi e specifici. Per l’attuazione del dispositivo, cioè per dotare la panchina della possibilità di muoversi verticalmente, una soluzione può essere quella di creare a terra una sede vuota in cui inserire un elemento della stessa forma che possa scorrere verticalmente. A tale risultato si può giungere anche con altri tipi di movimento, ad esempio realizzando a terra un taglio in cui far scorrere un elemento piatto che, uscendo dalla sede, si apre a libro formando una seduta. Dal punto di vista tecnologico la movimentazione dell’elemento si può ottenere attraverso differenti dispositivi ad esempio manuali, meccanici, automatici, semi-automatici, ecc... e il movimento potrebbe essere ottenuto anche adattando le diverse soluzioni tecniche già in produzione per i citati dissuasori o le colonnine a scomparsa. Il primo disegno (tav 1/2) illustra chiaramente le finalità dell’invenzione, mettendo in evidenza i vantaggi offerti: nella immagine^ è raffigurata una piazza con una panchina sulla quale sono sedute alcune persone (la panchina è in posizione di seduta), nella immagine 2 la stessa piazza è caratterizzata da uno spazio completamente libero, all'interno del quale è parcheggiato un camioncino per lo svolgimento del mercato (la panchina è ‘scomparsa’nel terreno}. Il secondo disegno (tav 2/2) illustra nelle immagini 3 e 4 una sezione schematica del dispositivo, mettendo in evidenza esclusivamente il movimento di ritrazione della seduta nel terreno finalizzato alla creazione di uno spazio libero. Le immagini dalla 5 alla 10 illustrano alcuni esempi delle svariate combinazioni di forme, dimensioni, colori e materiali dell'invenzione, rispettivamente a panchina estratta o scomparsa nel terreno. Le soluzioni formali dell’elemento, sia pianimetriche che in alzato, possono infatti assumere numerose varianti, ad esempio nelle dimensioni, nelle forme, nelle aggregazioni di elementi, eco..,, così come i materiali, i colori e la finitura superficiale dell’elemento possono assumere numerose varianti e possono integrarsi in qualsiasi tipo di pavimentazione, come ad esempio metallo, pietre, gomme colorate, ecc...
