Abstract

The welding roller (5) has, arranged inside it, one or more static sources (13, 13') which radiate heat in a sufficiently distributed manner over the entire working length of the said roller, in at least one zone of the round angle, or in several zones which are angularly equidistant from each other, or over the entire round angle, while the said roller is uniformly heated also as a result of the rotation which is imparted to it and maintained by suitable means, both during the welding step and between one step and the next. The said heat source or sources (13, 13') are mounted on a fixed support structure which has, rotatably mounted thereon via bearings (9), the end flanges of the tubular sleeve with a round cross-section of the welding roller (5), and the said support structure protrudes from at least one end of the said welding roller for constraining to a support means and this end of the said structure being axially hollow so as to allow the passage of the electric power supply cables (23) of the said fixed internal heating source or sources of the welding roller.
