Come è noto, gli animali domestici e/o da allevamento sono soggetti a ferirsi per una pluralità di cause usuali, tra le quali quelle derivanti da operazioni di mascalcia. Essendo l’animale un qualcosa di prezioso sia per ragioni affettive, sia per ragioni economiche, è importante che sue eventuali ferite guariscano in fretta e non creino complicazioni patologiche. A volte può essere addirittura importante proteggerlo in modo preventivo, con prodotti idonei a garantire un’igienicità o disinfezione di certe parti del suo corpo. Attualmente sono disponibili sul mercato, per tale impiego, vari tipi di disinfettanti. Essi sono tuttavia generalmente formulati secondo specifiche finalità; esistono cioè, dei disinfettanti che sono efficaci contro certi agenti patogeni, ma inutili nei confronti di altri agenti, cosicché l'impiego di essi può creare l’inconveniente tipico dei disinfettanti a bersaglio mirato, ovvero di risultare inefficaci. Inoltre, la generalità dei disinfettanti è prodotta per sintesi e, spesso, è fonte di fenomeni allergici e/o patologici collaterali. La possibilità, peraltro, di impiegare dei prodotti lenitivi, che attenuino il disagio dell’animale ferito, non sempre è associabile ad altri prodotti curativi o disinfettanti. Specialmente nel caso delle bovine da latte, poi, si ha la necessità dì lavare spesso l'animale o parti di esso; ne consegue che l’eventuale disinfettante posto su delle ferite di esso verrebbe rapidamente rimosso, specialmente se la ferita interessasse le zone dei suoi zoccoli o delle sue zampe. I battericidi attualmente usati, hanno spesso dei principi attivi basati sull’azione di antibiotici dagli effetti collaterali indesiderati non sempre conoscibili, giacché si estrinsecano in tempi molto lunghi ed in patologie che solo con grandi sperimentazioni (non sempre economicamente possibili) potrebbero essere riconducibili all’uso di tali antibiotici. Ciò può significare, per esempio, che la notevole attenzione veterinaria rivolta usualmente alle mucche da latte, rende assai probabile la presenza in esse di altri antibiotici, che potrebbero determinare pericolose reazioni anafilattiche. In ogni caso, considerando che dette sostanze antibiotiche sono, di fatto, in circolo nell’organismo delle bovine da latte in argomento, si può ben comprendere la possibilità che esse possano trasferire tali pericolose sostanze anche nel latte da esse prodotto. In any case, considering that said antibiotic substances are, in fact, circulating in the organism of the dairy cows in question, it is possible to understand the possibility that they can transfer these dangerous substances even in the milk they produce.

Scopo della presente invenzione è quello di definire un prodotto idoneo a svolgere una efficace azione terapeutica ed antisettica sul derma, degli animali in genere, che sia dotato di un ampio spettro d'azione. Altro scopo è quello di definire un prodotto, come sopra, che possa basarsi su principi attivi di origine naturale. Altro scopo è quello di definire un prodotto, come sopra, che sia associabile a fattori idonei a lenire la sofferenza dell’animale. Questi ed altri scopi appariranno come raggiunti dalla lettura della descrizione seguente, illustrante un unguento ad azione terapeutica ed antisettica del derma animale, particolarmente per l'igiene e la salute dei piedi degli ungulati, avente la particolarità di trarre proprietà antisettiche ad ampio spettro, in prevenzione ed in terapia, dall’impiego di un olio essenziale ottenuto per distillazione in corrente di vapore acqueo del fogliame della pianta Melaleuca Alternifolia con contenuti minimi in Terpinen-4-OL del 35% e con contenuti massimi in 1 ,8 Cineolo del 5%, detto olio essendo presente in percentuali variabili dal 0,5 al 5% in una formulazione comprendente: - agenti idratanti costituiti da alcoli di Lanolina presenti in percentuali variabili dal 10 al 20%; The purpose of the present invention is to define a product suitable for carrying out an effective therapeutic and antiseptic action on the dermis of animals in general, which is endowed with a broad spectrum of action. L’olio di Melaleuca di cui sopra è estratto per distillazione in corrente di vapore acqueo del fogliame della Melaleuca Alternifolia. Esso è composto da una miscela di monoterpeni, sesquiterpeni ed alcoli terpenici in cui il contenuto in TERPINEN-4-OL non è inferiore al 30% per svolgere la migliore azione germicida ed il contenuto in 1 ,8 CINEOLO non supera il 15%, per non generare irritazione delle mucose. La percentuale massima del TERPINEN-4-OL, oltre la quale non aumenta il potere battericida, è del 40%. Tra gli altri componenti importanti presenti nel citato olio (che ne comprende oltre 90) sono citabili: - soothing and anti-redness factor consisting of bisabolol in a maximum variable percentage of 1%. Tale olio è presente nell’unguento di cui all’invenzione in una percentuale variabile dal 0,5 al 5% dipendentemente dal potere disinfettante richiesto. Nel citato unguento sono presenti, in una percentuale variabile dal 65 all'80% degli olii di vaselina con funzione di veicolanti lipidici. Quali agenti idratanti ed emollienti sono invece presenti in una percentuale compresa tra il 10 ed il 20% degli alcoli di Lanolina. Per regolare il grado di viscosità dell’unguento vengono impiegati degli alcoli grassi in percentuali variabili dal 5 al 10%.
