Abstract
1364705 Plate heat exchangers W K F SCHMIDT 5 Nov 1971 [5 Nov 1970] 51547/71 Heading F4S In an arrangement comprising an assembly 13 of heat exchange plates held together by clamp bolt means between fixed and movable end members 10, 18, each end member consists of a relatively thin plate (i.e. 22 or 23) having welded thereto on its face remote from the plate assembly, a plurality of yoke shaped members such as indicated at 24. These have ends, e.g. 41, 42 which project outwardly beyond the respective plates 22 or 23 where they are engaged by the clamp bolt means. As shown, each bolt 19 has at one end thereof a welded-on head piece 43, the other end of the bolt being threaded to receive a loosely fitting headpiece 44 (similar in shape to headpiece 43) and a nut 45 by which clamping pressure is applied. Inlet and outlet connections 14, 15, 16, 17 for the heat exchanging fluids are incorporated in the fixed end member 10.
