A corredo di una domanda di brevetto per invenzione industriale avente per titolo: In support of a patent application for industrial invention entitled:

?Collo artificiale articolato per testa di manichino?. ? Articulated artificial neck for mannequin head ?.

The present invention proposes an articulated artificial neck for manikin head which can be used in mannequins of human body or only of human head during tests under different impact conditions to experimentally study aspects of damage in mechanical situations due to human accidents.

Damage to the head is the response to applied actions and impacts on it. The study of such situations? generally performed through models and mannequins in order to determine the head response generally considered together with the neck structure with limited articulation architecture. There are few devices in use that include an artificial mannequin neck to experimentally determine the dynamic response in head impact situations with the help of the neck.

US3753301 from 1973 features a mannequin whose head? connected to a neck with a single-body mechanical joint equipped with a viscous damper for two rotations orthogonal to each other. Patent US3877156 of 1975 presents a dummy for impact tests with the articulated head with a connection that allows a limited angular motion only in the sagittal plane. Patent US3916535 of 1975 shows a rigid head of a mannequin with a rigid neck articulated with the head by means of a ball joint. Patent US9972220 of 2018 proposes the cervical segment of artificial column whose vertebral modules are made from rigid bodies that include flexible elements. Patent CN203798525U shows an articulated artificial neck with two rigid vertebral segments connected by a ball joint and connected with two springs to simulate the action of the spinal muscles. The US Committee for Athletic Equipment Standards has developed a rigid structure dummy head impact test rig using a pneumatic piston for frontal impact only. In the European New Car Assessment Program a dummy including a flexible neck head is used to test car crashes without any specific bump on the head.

The present invention presents an artificial articular neck for a manikin head for impact experiments in head mannequins with a transportable structure and suitable characteristics for simulating impact situations. The articular artificial neck for mannequin head? based on a modular structure with elements of vertebrae reproducing the cervical segment of the human vertebral column allowing to carry out impact tests in a manikin with different conditions in terms of time and intensity values. d? impact with possibility? to evaluate the contribution of the neck to the impact response using sensors included in the structure of the artificial neck.

La struttura dell?invenzione ? descritta nelle Figure 1, 2 e 3 dove: The structure of the invention? described in Figures 1, 2 and 3 where:

- la Fig. 1 mostra la struttura del collo artificiale articolato con tre segmenti vertebrali con i suoi componenti tramite uno schema concettuale; - Fig. 1 shows the structure of the articulated artificial neck with three vertebral segments with its components through a conceptual scheme;

- la Fig. 2 mostra la struttura di un segmento vertebrale con i suoi componenti tramite uno schema concettuale; - Fig. 2 shows the structure of a vertebral segment with its components through a conceptual scheme;
