DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to an improved furniture door for assembling hinges.

With particular, but not exclusive, reference to the caravan sector? I notice that? a continuous search is underway for innovative materials for the creation of lightened interior furnishings, and in particular of the relative doors, which in any case have pleasant aesthetic characteristics and good mechanical resistance, but with low weight, so as not to negatively affect the overall weight of the vehicles in which they are incorporated, on the relative consumption and on the consequent polluting emissions.

For example ? known to produce doors consisting of a finishing shell inside which? a filling core is housed. The finishing shell? made of laminated material, comprising two external sheets constituting the opposite faces of the door and connected by a perimeter profile. The filling core? made with a material with low density, for example porous (polymeric foam) or with a honeycomb structure (in paper or cardboard)

These doors of the type are not free from drawbacks, including the fact that they make it particularly difficult to assemble the connection hinges to the furniture structure which generally provide a connection plate which is fixed to the door by means of threaded members.

The limited thickness of the external shell and the reduced mechanical resistance of the internal core, in fact, do not allow the threaded members to have sufficient grip in the door and do not allow a stable and lasting connection to be obtained. Nonetheless, it frequently happens that in use the door releases from the hinge and from the relative threaded connecting members, causing damage to the relative finishing shell, which tends to crack at the inlet holes of these threaded members.

To try to remedy these problems? It is known to provide self-locking threaded bushings which are inserted by pressure into the door and which define the nut screws in which the threaded connecting members of the hinges engage. However, these bushings also tend to slip out of the door over time, with the risk of causing damage to the relative finishing shell. In addition, the need? providing bushings involves an increase in overall costs.

Alternatively? It is known to provide connection plates provided with internally threaded bushings which are glued to the pre-machined door to define the seats of the aforesaid bushings. This solution, in addition to presenting the above problems in any case, entails a considerable complication of the processing cycle and a further increase in production costs, both for the additional materials and for the required operating steps.

The main aim of the present invention? that of eliminating the aforementioned drawbacks of the known art by devising an improved furniture door for the assembly of hinges which allows to obtain a stable and reliable connection over time with the articulation hinges to the furniture structure, without complicating the processing cycle, ? increase the production costs of the branch itself.

Within the scope of this technical task, another object of the present invention? to preserve the integrity? of the door during use, avoiding the risk of damage resulting from the detachment of the hinge.

A further object of the present invention? that of presenting a simple structure, relatively easy to implement in practice, safe to use and effective in operation, as well as? relatively low cost.

This aim and these objects are all achieved by the present improved furniture door for the assembly of hinges according to what is recited in claim 1 and optionally provided for one or more? of the characteristics referred to in the subsequent claims.

Further characteristics and advantages of the present invention will become more evident from the detailed description of a preferred but not exclusive embodiment of an improved furniture door for the assembly of hinges, illustrated by way of example, but not of limitation, in the accompanying tables of drawings in which:

With particular reference to these figures, yes? 1 generally indicates an improved furniture door for mounting hinges. Door 1? intended, in use, to be associated by means of one or more? hinges 101 for articulation to the structure 102 of a piece of furniture, defining a compartment, which is closed when the door 1? approached to the structure itself and made accessible by moving the door 1 by means of the hinges 101.

Typically, the hinges 101 allow the door 1 to be moved with respect to an axis having a substantially horizontal position and are arranged along this axis.

The door 1 can? have different shapes and sizes. Generally the door 1 has a substantially quadrangular shape in plan and can? have a flat or curved conformation.

The door 1 in any case has two dimensions (length and width) much greater than the third (thickness), therefore it has two surfaces having a greater extension than the others.

Door 1? consisting of a finishing shell 2 comprising a pair of opposite faces 3 joined together by a perimeter band 4, inside which? a filling core is housed 5.

The faces 3 correspond to the surfaces of greatest extension of the door 1, while the band 4 corresponds to the perimeter edge corresponding to the thickness of the door itself.

The finishing shell 2 can? be made with conventional laminated material to obtain the desired aesthetic coating.

Door 1? adapted to be associated with the structure 102 of a piece of furniture by means of at least one hinge 101. Generally, at least two hinges 101 are provided for articulating the door 1 to the structure 102 (Figure 1).

Each hinge 101? equipped with a connection plate 103 able to abut on one of the faces 3 in correspondence with a coupling area 6 and to be connected to the door itself by means of one or more? threaded members 104. Generally threaded members 104 of the type of self-tapping screws are used, which, during the assembly step, engage in the thickness of the door 1 while they are inserted therein. For example, in the version shown there are four threaded members 104 (of which only two are visible in the figures) for connecting the plate 103 of each hinge 101 to the door 1.

The plates 103 are approached to the face 3 of the door 1 which in use? intended to be turned towards the inside of the cabinet.

It should be noted that the hinges 101 used can have different structures. In the figures conventional hinges 101 with a double quadrilateral mechanism and a shock-absorbing element in closing are represented by way of example, but the invention can? it can be used with any known type of hinge provided with a plate 103 for connection to the door 1 by means of threaded members 104.

The filler core 5? made with lightened material, for example, having a porous or alveolar structure.

The filling core 5 in material with a porous structure can? be made with polymeric foam, for example in polyvinyl chloride, polystyrene or polyurethane, injected inside the finishing shell 2 and allowed to solidify. The filling core 5 in a material with a honeycomb structure can? be made with a panel of paper, cardboard or polymeric material having, for example, a honeycomb conformation or with tubular elements such as straws.

The door 1 comprises at least one stiffening insert 7 housed in the thickness of the filling core 5 at least in correspondence with the coupling area 6 with a corresponding hinge 101.

Insert 7? consisting of a substantially sheet-like element having such a shape and dimensions as to have an extension at least equal to that of the plate 103 of the corresponding hinge 101.

If the door 1 is articulated to the furniture structure 102 by means of two or more? hinges 101? it is preferable to provide an insert 7 in correspondence with each coupling area 6 with a respective hinge 101, as shown in the figures.

Do not ? in any case, excluding the provision of a single insert 7 having such an extension as to cover the coupling areas 6 with two or more? pi? hinges 101.

In the following description it will be read? generically of? a? insert 7 meaning to refer to? each? insert 7 placed in correspondence with a respective hinge 101 or at the? single? insert 7 provided in correspondence of two or more? hinges 101.

Insert 7? preferably made of rigid material. For example, the insert 7 can? be made of plastic or metal.

If it is metallic, the insert 7? preferably equipped with a plurality? of pre-holes 8 passing through its thickness (Figure 3) to facilitate the insertion of the threaded members 104 during assembly.

Insert 7 can have a thickness of the order of magnitude of a few millimeters, for example 3 mm.

During the assembly phase of the door 1 to the structure 102 by means of the hinges 101, the presence of the insert 7 allows to obtain a better grip of the threaded members 104 which, passing through the thickness of the insert itself, remain anchored to it, guaranteeing a greater ? stable and long lasting connection.

Figures 5 and 6 show successive assembly steps in which a threaded member 104 is screwed inside the door 1 passing through a face 3 of the finishing shell 2, part of the thickness of the filling core 5 and passing through the insert 7.

Preferably the insert 7? positioned at a distance from the perimeter band 4 to prevent the thickness of the door 1 from falling apart due to the effect of the traction transmitted to the threaded members 104.

For example, the insert 7 can? be positioned at a distance of the order of magnitude of 10 mm from the band 4.

Even more? preferably the insert 7? completely immersed in the material with which? the filling core 5 is made, with material also being provided between the insert itself and the band 4.

For example, in the case in which the filling core 5 is obtained from solidified foam, the insert 7 can? be kept in position inside the finishing shell 2 during the injection and hardening phase of the foam itself.

Alternatively, if the filling core 5 is made of heat-deformable plastic material and the insert 7 of metal, the latter can be made of metal. be heated and forced into the material constituting the core itself.

If, on the other hand, the filling core 5 is made of a material with a honeycomb structure, it can? a seat in which to house the insert 7 must be defined, then closed by a piece of the same material, possibly gluing it.

Yup ? in practice, it has been observed that the described invention achieves the intended aim and objects and in particular it is emphasized that the door according to the invention allows to obtain a stable and lasting connection with the articulation hinges to the furniture structure, while preserving the integrity of the furniture. of the door itself and avoiding complicating the structure and the related processing cycle in order not to increase production costs.

The found so? conceived? susceptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the inventive concept.

Furthermore, all the details can be replaced by other technically equivalent elements.

In practice, the materials used, as well as? the contingent shapes and dimensions may be any according to requirements without thereby abandoning the scope of the protection of the following claims.

CLAIMS 1) Door (1) for furniture improved for the assembly of hinges comprising a finishing shell (2) equipped with a pair of opposite faces (3) connected to each other by a perimeter band (4) inside which? a filling core (5) is housed, the door (1) being able to be associated with the structure (102) of a piece of furniture by means of at least one articulation hinge (101) equipped with a connection plate (103) able to abut on one of said faces (3) opposite each other in correspondence with a coupling area (6) and to be connected to the door itself by means of at least one threaded member (104), characterized in that it comprises at least one stiffening insert (7) housed in the thickness of said filling core (5) at least in correspondence with the coupling area (6) with said at least one articulation hinge (101). 2) Door (1), according to claim 1, characterized in that said at least one insert (7)? positioned at a distance from said perimeter band (4). 3) Door (1), according to claim 2, characterized in that said at least one insert (7)? completely immersed in said filling core (5). 4) Door (1), according to one or more? of the preceding claims, characterized in that said filling core (5)? made of material with a porous or alveolar structure. 5) Door (1), according to claim 4, characterized in that said material with a porous structure comprises solidified polymeric foam. 6) Door (1), according to claim 4, characterized in that said material with a honeycomb structure? made of paper, cardboard or polymeric material. 7) Door (1), according to claim 1, characterized in that said at least one insert (7)? made of plastic or metal material. 8) Door (1), according to claim 1, characterized in that said at least one insert (7)? endowed with a plurality? of pre-holes (8) adapted to favor the coupling of said at least one threaded member (104). 9) Door (1), according to one or more? of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises at least two of said inserts (7) positioned in correspondence with respective coupling areas (6) with corresponding articulation hinges (101).
