Wrapping method for making a package (1) of smoking items; the wrapping method includes the steps of: forming a group (14) of smoking articles; making an internal wrapping (3) by folding a wrapping sheet (24) around the group (14) of smoking articles; making, by folding a blank (25) around the inner wrapping (3), an outer wrapping (50) comprising a container (2) which is cup-shaped and a lid (4) which is cup-shaped and is hinged to the container (2) to rotate, with respect to the container (2) itself, between an open position and a closed position; and place a coupon (26) entirely inside the external wrapping (50); the wrapping method is characterized by the fact that it includes the further steps of: placing the coupon (26) at least partially inside the lid (4) between the inner wrapping (3) and at least the front wall (11) and the wall (10 ) top of the cover (4) to give the coupon (26) itself a substantially "L" configuration; and glue the coupon (26) to the cover (4) using a glue (27).
