Abstract

A lining sleeve 2, especially for cable junctions in medium-voltage electric power lines, is fitted on a cylindrical tubular body 7 having a helicoidal grooving 8 which defines in said body a continuous strip 9, formed by a plurality of consecutive turns 10, mutually joined together by a predetermined breaking line 11 of reduced thickness. The groove 8 is made on an internal cylindrical surface 7b of the tubular body 7, the latter having a smooth and continuous external cylindrical surface 7a that is acted upon in elastic thrusting by the internal surface 2a of the sleeve 2. From one end turn 10 of the tubular body 7 there extends a prolongation 12 of the strip 9, which passes lengthwise through the tubular body 7. This prolongation 12, secured in a rigid guide tube 13, can be pulled to bring about the undoing of the tubular body 7 and the elastic contraction of the sleeve 2 on the cables 3, 4 being sheathed. <IMAGE>
