Abstract
In a blood perfusion system 1 used in vascular surgery provision is made for a connecting circuit 70 which places the following in communication in a blood flow in order from the inlet to the exit: a guide catheter 13 inserted in an arterial vessel 20, a first attenuating/compensating device 60, a first one-way valve 74, pumping means 30 driven by drive means 40, a second one-way valve 78, a second attenuating/compensating device 160 and a catheter 10 inserted in vessel 20 via guide catheter 13 so that its distal end passes through a stenosis 22 in vessel 20. The action of pumping means 30 stabilizes a one-way blood flow 21 which on aspiration is regulated/compensated by first attenuating/compensating device 60 and which in delivery is transformed from a pulsating to a virtually continuous flow when passing through second attenuating/compensating device 160. Sensors 50 and 80 for determining the pressure and the presence of air bubbles in the liquid and controlling the consequences of operation of the device through a control device 90 are also provided. <IMAGE>
