Il foglio è rivestito, almeno nei punti che porteranno le stampe e/o le scritture da proteggere, da una patina brillante che diventa opaca quando è sottoposta ad un'azione di cancellazione o di raschiature. Secondo l'invenzione, la patina del foglio è brillante, e contiene pigmenti di patinatura, come pure un legante. Il foglio comprende agenti di non falsificazione chimica e/o elementi di autenticazione. Applicazione come carta di sicurezza o per biglietti di banca.
