Method for melting of titanium, comprising, in sequence, the provision of a metal batch to be melted in a crucible positioned next to a melting cylinder with refractory and an impression mould, located inside a hermetic melting and casting chamber, able to be reclined and provided with electric arc melting means for the batch, the creation, in an interval of time of at least two minutes, of a vacuum of at least 4 millibar inside the melting and casting chamber, controlled by a high-vacuum device aspirating from a portion of the cylinder, for degasification of the refractory material, the feeding of an inert gas at low flow rate to perform a "preflushing" of the melting chamber, the activation of electric arc means to bring about the melting of the batch, interruption of the aspiration, and the inert gas supply, until the melting and casting chamber is saturated, tilting of the melting chamber to perform the casting from the crucible to the melting cylinder, the feeding of inert gas at high flow rate to push the molten metal and make it go into the material inside the melting cylinder, the controlled unloading of the inert gas from part of the melting cylinder at a value equal to or slightly greater than atmospheric pressure, so as to have a casting at constant pressure. <IMAGE>
