Una composizione liquida polimerizzabile comprende - un poli(allil carbonato) polimerizzabile di un poliolo alifatico o cicloalifatico; - un perossido organico generatore di radicali liberi scelto nella classe dei perchetali, ed eventualmente - un colorante organico e/o un composto fotocromatico organico.Le composizioni possono essere trasformate, mediante polimerizzazione in massa, in vetri organici incolori, oppure colorati o fotocromatici, dotati di buone caratteristiche ottiche e meccaniche.
