Abstract

The inhaler has a rotor to fill a fixed chamber formed in the bottom of a medicament reservoir and to separate it air-tightly from the reservoir when filled. The chamber is connected to a cylindrical compression chamber forming part of a servo-assisted control air compression system actuated by the manual stroke of a plunger which compresses a spiral loading spring. The spring is automatically released by a sliding control mechanism automatically actuated by continuing the plunger stroke or by an inhalation-controlled element. The spring energy is released against a piston which snaps forwards into the compression chamber to produce a jet of compressed air to deliver the powder from the dosage chamber through a nozzle.
