Metodo e macchina (1) per il confezionamento di un baco (26) continuo di sigaretta, secondo i quali un tappeto (9) di tabacco, disposto ad disotto di un primo convogliatore (8) aspirante, viene alimentato in modo continuo ad una stazione (11) di scarico, nella quale una estremità di uscita (12) del primo convogliatore (8) è disposta al disopra di un nastro (22) di carta avanzato da un secondo convogliatore (15) lungo un trave di formatura (24) del baco (26), e definisce, con il secondo convogliatore (15), un passaggio (21) impegnato dal tappeto (9) di tabacco; la compattezza del baco (26) venendo controllata variando l'ampiezza del passaggio (21) in funzione di caratteristiche fisiche, quali l'umidità, del tabacco nel tappeto (9) di tabacco.
