Abstract

Vengono descritti dei fosfori di ossido di magnesio attivati con europio utili come materiali fotoluminescenti, da essere usati in metodi per determinare la presenza o la concentrazione di anidride carbonica in un campione, comprendenti le fasi di a) esporre ad una radiazione di una predeterminata lunghezza d'onda un fosforo messo in contatto con tale campione la cui fotoluminescenza è attenuata dalla presenza di anidride carbonica, per causare l'immagazzinamento di energia da radiazione in tale materiale, b) stimolare detto fosforo fotoluminescente con una radiazione infrarossa per rilasciare, come luce fotoluminescente, l'energia immagazzinata, c) determinare e misurare, per mezzo di mezzi di rilevazione, l'intensità di tale luce fotoluminescente, e d) correlare tale intensità misurata con un'intensità della luce fotoluminescente precedentemente misurata ad un dato valore di riferimento di pressione di anidride carbonica.
