Abstract

The plant comprises a system 4-18 supplying treated air with a duct 14 which directs treated air towards the windscreen 2 and a device 10, 11 for regulating the air flowrate through this duct, devices 20-23 for sensing the temperature of the air inside and outside the compartment, the treated air introduced into the passenger compartment, the speed of the vehicle 25 and the relative humidity of the air inside the compartment, and an electronic control unit ECU designed to: a) determine the temperature of the dew point for the air inside the passenger compartment, corresponding to the detected values of the temperature and relative humidity of this air, b) calculating the air flowrate to be directed towards the windscreen 2 using a function of the speed of the vehicle 25, the temperature of the external air and the temperature of the dew point of the internal air as well as the temperature of the treated air; and c) controlling the regulating device 10, 11 so that the air flowrate directed towards the windscreen 2 tends to reach the calculated value. <IMAGE>
