Abstract

Alloy of compsn. given below is used for hot wear resistant hot work tools at 650-850 deg.C. Alloy has the compsn. (by wt.) 55-65% Ni, 12-25% Cr, 5-15% W, 0-15% Co, 3-10% Mo, 1.5-5% Ti, 0-5% Nb, 1-3.5% Al, 0.15-0.5% V, 0-0.5% Si, 0.1-0.5% Mn, 0.08-0.20% C, 0.001-0.020% Mg, 0.001-0.020% Ce, 0.001-0.015% B 0.1 + (6.5 x N)% Zr, balance Ni and impurities. The alloy contains greater than 15% W+Mo to ensure hot workability and 0.05-0.50% Re to produce a hardness of greater than 450 HV.
