Abstract

The present invention concerns a system to measure real steam transpiration parameter and that is particularly adequate in irrigation in open-field culture. The system operates on the base of micro-meteorological data, elaborated through a predetermined calculation procedure. Said method envisages the measurement of a series of physical parameters comprising temperature, atmospheric pressure wetness and wind speed at two different heights, as well as atmospheric pressure at a height value corresponding to the geometric average value between both said heights. Said measurements are obtained by using a series of detectors that produce an electrical signal in function of the measured value. Said detectors are linked to multiplexer devices that are controlled by a data-elaborating unit according to a software determined sequence, and by an analogical/digital converter aimed at converting the detectors' analogical data into digital signals that can thus be elaborated by the elaborating unit.Said elaborating unit also controls both parameter and data entry devices and recording and presenting data devices, said data being relative to real steam transpiration parameters in order to plan irrigation cycles and/or volumes. The system is provided with self-diagnosis devices and with automatic drift compensation devices. Moreover said cycles are designed to minimise electrical demand and to allow the system to work with photovoltaic panels associated with a buffer battery.
