Abstract

The lifting and slat-tilting mechanism for a Venetian blind has a tilting mechanism coaxial to the lifting shaft for the slat-supporting cords with a friction clutch with radial jaws. Rotation of the shaft cuased this mechanism to turn between two fixed stops on the housing. The jaws (6a, 6b) hinge independently of each other on a common (11) or different spindles and each has a stop (12a, 12b) clear of the latter. Thus when the shaft is turned for more than the amount for which the tilting mechanism can turn the jaws are lifted free of it (2).
