Abstract

The screw cap used to close containers subject to pressure or internal vacuum is made of a plastic material with a rigidity value of at least 75 Shore D. The seal between the cap and the neck (5) of the container consists of a seal ring made of plastic adhesive, bordered on the inside by the first part (12a) of a ring-shaped projecting part protruding from the inner surface of the flat bottom (1) of the cap. One end (12b) of the ring-shaped projecting part (12) has a cylindrical inner surface (15) that is forced against the inner surface (5a) of the neck (5) of the container to insulate the seal ring (10) from the inner part of the container.
