Abstract
The process calls for the annual plant, that is to say, its agricultural residue, such as wheat hay, to be subjected to a phase of mechanical heat treatment in aqueous suspension, in the presence of a non-ionic surface-active agent; a thickening phase of the obtained mass; a phase of mechanical defribration at alkaline pH and at high temperature. The resultant product is then further refined, purged, neutralized and/or acidified according to traditional techniques. The effluent derived from the thickening phase is in turn purged with the obtainment of a solid fraction, which is returned to the paste, preferably in the machine vat; and a liquid fraction, which is used in the mechanical treatment of the starting product.
