Abstract

The fine adjustment mechanism for the rake of a car seat has the two parts of the hinge pivotted about a central shaft (11) and which is fitted an inclined drive wheel (39). This has a double bank of gear teeth (50) rotating about its circumference to engage inward facing gear teeth (36, 37) linked to the two parts of the hinge. The system provides a simple adjustment operated by a hand control (1) rigidly attached to the drive shaft. The joint is self locking without requiring any complex locking control.
