Abstract

The machine comprises a mobile, wheeled chassis carrying a rotary, cylindrical mixing drum. The drum rotates about its approx horizontal longitudinal axis the drum is closed at one end and has an aperture at the other end for loading and discharging. The drum has reversible drive and is fitted internally with helical scrolls to convey material in either direction axially inside the drum. Provision is made to feed and discharge the drum via the aperture, pref. by means of a reversible, screen conveyor. The drum axia is pref. tilted slightly downward towards the closed end of the drum at up to 30 degrees to the horizontal. The open end of the drum is pref. coned to converge towards the aperture. Drum drive and feed conveyor drive are pref. by independent hydraulic motors served by a common pump.
