Abstract

The invention relates to a process for the packaging of any products in heat-weldable containers composed of a plurality of material layers, of which at least one, specifically primarily the inner layer, is heat-weldable, whilst at least one of the remaining layers can consist of a thin metal foil, for example aluminium foil. The container can take the form of an envelope or bag or of a bag with sidefolds and furthermore possesses a welded-on mouthpiece having a piercable seal. The container is closed in the empty state and then, when required by the product to be introduced, undergoes a sterilising treatment by means of gamma radiation or heat according to processes known per se. The mouthpiece is then pierced and the product is introduced by means of the piercing member itself, for example an insertion tube which is introduced into the container and which penetrates into the latter. Sealing is then carried out by means of heat-welding with the bag wall located opposite the mouthpiece, around the orifice previously provided for attaching the mouthpiece, thereby providing a filled container or bag which is sealed and which, as a result of its component material, allows a long-term storage of the products stored in it, without the possibility that impurities will enter from outside. <IMAGE>
