Abstract

The foldable chair frame has a base formed by a laterally collapsible X-frame (11) with two back (12) members and two lower braces (13) connected to upper braces (14) through knuckle joints (16). A laterally located bracing frame (60) is positioned at the lower end of the back, adjacent the X-frame. The bracing frame may be locked to hold the chair in the unfoldable i.e. use, position. The back rest members (296) can be moved between a forward position, suitable for a person sitting in the chair, to a backward position for reclining person. The back rest parts are movable without obstruction from the collapsible bracing frame. The chair is esp. for use as a child's push chair. The frame permits a considerable degree of movement of the back rest members from a forward sitting position to a rearward reclining position.
