Abstract

Injection mould with a relatively cooled mould block (20) in which the mouldings are formed operates with relative movement between these two blocks in order to make and break the communication respectively between the outlet gates of the heated inlet block and the inlet openings of the relatively cool mould block. During a portion of the time in which this communication is broken, the surfaces surrounding the outlet gates (13) are brought into contact with a gate temperature recovery block (30). Pref. the heated inlet block (10) and the relatively cool mould block (20) move relative to one another simultenously with the opening and closing movements of the mould. The formation of sprues and other waste material due to premature cooling is avoided.
