Abstract

The mechanism is for converting linear into rotary motion with a cam (11) slidable along a shaft (12). At each axial end the cam has a flat surface (13, 14) confronting a flat surface (20, 21) of a follower secured to the shaft. The surfaces of the cam and the follower are each inclined to the shaft axis at the same angle (gamma). The two surfaces (14, 21) are angularly off-set about the shaft axis so that sliding of the cam (F1) results in rotation of the follower until the surfaces abut in parallel relationship. Return sliding of the cam reverses the shaft rotation by cooperation with the other follower.
