Abstract

A mine for obstructing the advance of enemy force can be laid by a helicopter or ground vehicle. When the mine strikes the ground after being released from the helicopter the shock of impact releases a first signal in the mine arming circuit. An oscillating electric switch closes and releases a second signal when the mine oscillates as a result of any force imposed on it by an enemy soldier or vehicle. The mine has a control circuit which receives both the first and second signals and checks the order of their reception. It then generates the final detonating signal only if it has received the second signal after the first signal.
