Abstract

The floating barrier for enclosing, in maritime basin, water polluted by mineral oil, acids or other floaint liq. pollutants consists of an external, impermeable sheath which defines an internal longitudinal chamber which contains water and buoyancy floats which keep the top of the barrier above water level. The barrier can either be completely sealed in which case valves are provided for filling or emptying, or it can have lateral holes allowing it to be filled by sea water. It can also be made from a singular tubular element or of many tubular elements which are joined together in a watertight manner.
