1511971 Door closers VEREINIGTE BAU BESCHLAGFABRIKEN GRETSCH & CO GmbH 20 May 1976 [21 May 1975] 20791/76 Heading E2M In a floor level door closer comprising a housing 1 formed of a single initially plane sheet metal plate and closed by a lid 2 which is permanently secured to the housing 1, a closer mechanism is contained within the housing 1 having a closer shaft 30 projecting from the lid for connection to the door. The closer mechanism includes a hydraulic damper 24 and a closer spring 47 mounted on spindles 50, 60, 72 which are mounted in bearings located on or formed by the lid and the bottom portion of the housing. The closer shaft 30 is provided with two cam discs 40, 41 on which complimentary rollers 42, 43 of a twoarmed lever 44 engage On one arm 46 of the lever 44 one end of the closer spring 47 is articulated and on another arm 45 of the lever 44 one end of the hydraulic damper 24 is articulately attached. The other free ends of the closer spring and the damping device are articulatedly retained on spindles 60 and 72 respectively held between the housing 1 and the lid 2. The lid and housing may be treated against corrosion by an electrostatically applied coating and an elastic sealing composition may be placed between the housing and the lid before being secured together. The housing 1 is accommodated in an installation box B.
