Abstract
Textile materials of synthetic polyester of polyamide are made fireproof by first treating with a liquor or bath contg. at least (a) a brominated cycloalkane (I) of 1-12 ring C and 4-6 Br bonded to these C but excluding 1,2,5,6,9,10-hexabromocyclododecane (Ia), and (b) a dispersant (II). The material is then heat-treated. The loading of (I) after heat-treatment is 0.5-7, pref. 0.5-7, pref. 0.5-5.3% by wt. of fabric. Pref. the material is dried at >100 degrees C, then heated at 120-220 degrees C; esp. it is subjected to the thermosol process at 150-220 degrees C.
