Abstract
The invention relates generally to welding and , more specifically, to welding wires for arc welding, such as Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) or Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW). In one embodiment a tubular welding wire (50) includes a sheath (52) and a core (54), in which the sheath (52) includes less than approximately 0.06% carbon by weight. The core (54) includes a carbon source and a potassium source that together comprise less than 10% of the core by weight.
