Abstract

To reduce the dead times during the calculation of attitude angles in vehicles equipped with strap-down systems, attitude angles are calculated from the angular velocities supplied by the strap-down systems with short clock repetition times at a frequency corresponding to this short clock repetition time. At times when slow and fast attitude angles are available at the same time, the value of the angle difference between the two angle values is formed and, in order to take into consideration slowly variable influencing variables such as the rate of rotation of the earth, transportation rate and the like, the fast attitude angles calculated within the period of the slower clock times of the platform calculation (3) are corrected by the value of the angle difference and provided as corrected attitude angles with a frequency corresponding to the short clock repetition times. <IMAGE>
