Claims (1)
1. CLAIMS A process for the production of guanidine which comprises reducing a ic acid ester of the formula wherein R is methyl and is lower using an alkali metal or calcium in liquid ammonia with an additional proton to give the intermediate of Formula wherein R is as defined which is reacted with cysteamine under reflux in acetic acid to give and reacting the latter with thiourea to give the desired A modification of the process of claim wherein the intermediate imidazol is added to a solution of carbonate to give which is dissolved in a suitable to which there is added to give the desired Process for the production of to whenever obtained by a process according to any of claims 1 to insufficientOCRQuality
