1463094 Packages: bags S REDMOND 6 Aug 1974 [20 Aug 1973] 34536/74 Headings B8C and B8K A package comprises a liquid, paste, gel, or a powder contained between a relatively stiff but flexible side 24 and a flexible side 30, the stiff side 24 having a cut pattern 34 extending thereacross and about which the package can be bent causing the cuts to open and form a discharge passage. The pattern of cuts may take various forms (Figs. 1A-1C, 4A-4H, not shown), and extend partially or wholly through the side 24. The side 24 may be of plastics, or card-, fibre-, or paperboard and be covered on one or both sides with a plastics or wax sealant or a foil which may be coated with a thermoplastic lacquer. The side 24 may be formed from an endless web which receives the cut pattern, is calendered and is then coated. The sides 24, 30 may be formed into a pouch which is then filled. [GB1463094A]

1. 45412/2 WHAT IS CLAIMED IS: la' A dispensing package for a lovable substance* said package having a relatively stiff lat side and a f exible arched side secured to one side of said stiff flat side and forming between said stiff flat side and said flexible arched side a pocket for containing a flovable substance» said relatively stiff flat side having a cut pattern so as to form at least one tongue and one opening when said relatively stiff flat side is bent into a V about an axis through the base of said tongue and in a direction about said axis toward said pocket so that 8 id flexible arched side and said flovable substance in said pocket are between the arms of said V, said arms of said V and said flexible side therebetween cooperating*! as said arms are forced toward each other* and applying pressure on said £lovable substance in said pocket and forcing said flovable substance to flow from said pocket through said opening*I 2.
