Abstract

Insecticides contain (a) 10-40 wt.% O,O-dimethyl-S-(N-methylcarbamoylmethyl)-phosphorodiethioate (I) as active ingredient and (b) a solid carrier having a pK value of 4.5-6.8 (pref. silica gel). They are stable and contain a high concentration of active ingredient while retaining the same biological activity as known emulsion formulations of the known systemic insecticide (I). [DE2306042A1]

Claims (10)

O.Z. 29,693 What we claim is :
1. An insecticidal composition based on 0,0-dimethyl-S- (N-methyl-carbamoylmethyl) -phosphorus dithioate, which contains from 10 to .40 by weight of active substance and a solid carrier having a pK value of from 4.5 to 6.8.
2. An insecticidal composition as claimed in claim 1 which contains a"" further insecticidally active material.
3. An insecticidal composition as claimed in claim 2 wherein the total quantity of active materials amounts to from 10 to 70$ of the total weight of active . material and solid carrier.
4. An insecticidal composition as claimed in claim 2 or 5 wherein the other insecticide is a carbamate.
5. An insecticidal composition as claimed in claim 4 wherein the carbamate is 1-napthyl N-methylcarbamate, and this latter is present in a weight of from 2 to 6 times that of the phosphorus di-thioate.
6. An insecticidal composition as claimed in any preceding claim which also contains a wetting or dispersing agent.
7. An insecticidal composition as claim in any preceding claim in which the solid carrier is a silica gel having a pK value of from 4.5 to 6.8.
8. An insecticidal composition as claimed in any preceding claim in which the particles have an average -"5 -2 particle size of from 10 ^ to 10 mm diameter.
9. An insecticidal composition as claimed in c]a im 1 substantially as described in Example 1 or 2.
10. A process for combating pests of the type commonly referred to as insects wherein there is applied to the pests or to locations," animals, plants, or products to be protected against the pests an insecticidal quantity of an insecticidal composition as claimed in any preceding claim.
