Claims (10)
1. A tamperproof closure comprising a closure cap which may be screwed onto a container having a screw threaded region, and a catch ring which is separate from the cap, which prevents the cap from being unscrewed from the container without the catch ring being broken, which has one or more weakened locations so that it can be removed prior to and enabling the closure cap to be unscrewed from the container and which has one or more projections which engages or engage a tooth or teeth or a recess or recesses in the container when the cap closes the container with the catch ring in position, characterised in that said closure cap has means defining a support ring over which the catch ring is fitted and through which the projection i&) extend radially of the cap (16) so that the cap and ring can be screwed together as a unit onto the container.
2. A ta perproof closure according to Claim 1, characterised in that there are a number of projections and such projections are equally circumferentially spaced.
3. A tamperproof closure according to Claim 2, wherein the closure cap has a top and a cylindrical portion, characterised in that the weans defining the support ring comprises a plurality of arcuate ledges at the edge of the cylindrical portion between which the projections of the catch ring pass.
4. A tamperproof closure according to Claim 3, characterised in that the closure cap has a flange adjacent the ledges defining the support ring, so as to limit the axial position of the catch ring relative to the closure cap.
5. A tamperproof closure according to Claim 3 or 4, characterised in that the catch ring has a circumferential, internal rib and the ledges have ah external groove in which said internal rib engages.
6. A tamperproof closure according to any of Claims 1 to 5 characterised in that the catch ring is weakened by means o one or more transverse slots therein.
7. A tamperproof closure according to any of Claims 1 to 6 characterised in that the catch ring has a finger pull tab adjacent the or each weakened location whereby the catch ring may be broken at such weakening by manual pulling of the one of the finger pull tabs.
8. The closure according to claim 6 or 7, characterised in that each weakened location of the ring is created by two axial slots extending each frop one side partially across the width of the catch ring, said slots preferably being circumferentially staggered.
9. The closure according to dlaim 8, characterised in that the catch ring has three equi-angularly spaced locations of weakening.
