Claims (4)
1. CLAIMS 1. A multifilament suture characterized by improved tie-down performance, the surface of which is coated with a polyester, said polyester having the formula: 0 HO- (CH2)n-0 C (CH-d)m-C-0- (CH2,)n-0 X wherein n is an integer larger than 1 and smaller than 13, m is an integer larger than 1 and smaller than 9 and X is the degree of polymerization, said polyester having a molecular weight i the range of about 1,000 to about 15,000.
2. The suture of Claim 1, characterized by a braided construction.
3. The suture of Claim 1, characterized by a twisted construction.
4. The suture of Claim 1, characterized by a covered construction. 43549/2 5,. The multifilament suture of Claim 1, characterized by a roughness of less than 1 pound. 13. The multifilament suture of Claim 2, characterized by a roughness of less than 1 pound. 141.
