Claims (5)
1. An electrical circuit-breaker comprising a housing, fixed and movable contact members and a breaker mechanism for actuating the movable contact member, said breaker mechanism including a pivotable handle for manual operation of the breaker, a first axle fixed in the housing, a first lever with tvo arms standing nearly at an angle of 90°C to each other, the summit of the angle coinciding almost with the axle, one arm of said lever being connected with the movable contact member and the other arm being coupled, in the direction of movement for closing the contacts, with a second lever by a pawl, said second lever being also carried by said axle and being operatively connected with said handle, spring means for urging said first lever in a direction to open the contacts, and an electro-magnetic short-circuit release being arranged within the space confined by the tvo arms of the first lever, said short-circuit release being capable of disengaging said pavl, characterized by the fact that the two arms of the first lever are of unequal length, said pawl cooperating with the longer arm of said first lever, the movable contact member being pivotably connected to the shorter arm of the first lever by means of a second axle, the movable contact member having a backward extension extending beyond said second axle, said spring means comprising at least one coil spring arranged on said first axle and having outwardly extending legs, one of which presses on the backward extension of the movable contact member for producing a contact pressure between said fixed and movable contact members as the contacts are closed, and the electro - 9 - magnetic short-circuit release having an armature arranged for knocking avay the movable contact member from the fixed contact member simultaneously with disengaging of the pawl.
2. A circuit-breaker according to Claim 1, wherein the coil spring carried by the first axle has a middle outwardly extending leg which presses on the backward extension of the movable contact member, two halves of the spring being arranged on opposite sides of the middle leg and being wound in opposite senses.
3. A circuit-breaker according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the second axle carrying the movable contact member has sufficient play in the first lever and the movable contact member has sufficient lateral distance from the first lever to permit the movable contact member to be rocked aroung its length direction over at least + 10° during closing motion of the movable contact member.
4. A circuit-breaker according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, which is equipped with two second levers extending parallel to one another, between which the pawl is pivotably suspended.
5. A circuit-breaker according to any one of the claims 1 to 4, wherein the first lever afteries two movable contact members which are electrically connected by a flexible connection. An electrical circuit-breaker, substantially as hereinbefore described with reference to the accompanying drawings.
