Claims

1. Crate for packing and transporing foodstuffs, particularly fruits and vegetables, the crate consisting of two distinct sections, namely a supporting structure and an inner lining, said supporting structure being made of plastic material, includes four support angle stanchions protruding above the long side walls of the crate and interconnected at each of the long side walls by two horizontal ribs and at each of the short side walls by three horizontal ribs, the two horizontal ribs of each long side wall being connected by three vertical ribs and the lower ribs of each short side wall by a vertical rib, the crate bottom comprising two longitudinal ribs and three transversal ribs, said inner lining being selected among corrugated cardboard, cell-like plastic material sheet and thin sheet made of other material.

2. Crate according to Claim 1, wherein each of said four angle stanchions has its upper end connected with the neighbouring long side wall of the crate through a guide stay.

3. Crate according to Claim 1, wherein said angle stanchions have their lower ends terminated with feet connected by twos, through the lower ribs of said horizontal ribs of the short side walls.

4. Crate according to Claim 1, wherein the long side walls of the crate are provided with a series of vertical flat laths distanced in way to allow the free ventilation of the crate content. 33520/2 - 7 -

5. Crate according to Claim 1, wherein at least two secondary vertical ribs are oonnected between the upper horizontal ribs of each ehort side wall of the crate.

6. Crate according to Claim 1, wherein the supporting structure of the crate is made of material selected from the group comprising polymers and copolymers of styrene, propylene and ethylene.

7. Crate according to Claim 6, wherein said polymers and copolymers are reinforced by a filler, such as #lass and asbestos.

8. Crate according to Claim 1, wherein said inner lining consists of a cardboard sheet provided with a cover, it too in cardboard, fastened by sticking or metal staples to the supporting structure in way to obtain a closed packing. For the Applicants ERS HS:CB
