Description
APPARATUS FOR COMBINATION THERAPY OF THE SPINE. The proposed device refers to physiotherapy and can be used in medicine and sports as a component of health programs for correction of the functional state of the spine, nervous system in case of stress and fatigue. The device is also aimed at correcting disorders of the spine, paravertebral muscles, mobilization procedures and for the stimulation of biologically active points during therapeutic unloading of the spine. It is well-known that there are various ways and means to correct functional state of the body, spine and well-being of a person. The closest to the declared device is the "Device for correction of the spine and paravertebral muscles" (patent of the Russian Federation No. 2465881) and "Apparatus for stimulation of the bioactive points of the body and for paravertebral muscles unloading" (patent of the Russian Federation No. 168180). The device for correction of the spine and paravertebral muscles under patent No. 2465881 is made in the form of the triangular basis with three pairs of massaging elements, each pair of massaging elements is made in the form of hills and is designed for a certain segment of the spine. Bases of each pair of massaging elements with a sharp slope are separated from their apices, and pairs of massaging elements are elevated to provide effective corrective effects for each segment of the spine, taking into account the anatomical curvature. The apices of the massaging protrusions contain electrodes for electric current, temperature and ultrasound exposure. The device is equipped with a software unit for processing information from electrodes about the functional state of the tissues surrounding the spine. Apparatus for stimulation of bioactive points of the body and for unloading of paravertebral muscles under patent No. 168180 is made in the form of a basis with two pairs of massaging protrusions for correction of the paravertebral muscles of the thoracic and lumbar spine and one pair of protrusions for reflectory-acupuncture effect on the cervical area and for stimulation of the bioactive points of the body. Protrusions are made in the form pyramids with a rounded upper part, with recesses between the protrusions for placement over the spinal process, the distance between the protrusions of each pair increases from reflectory-acupuncture protrusions for the neck to the massaging protrusions for the lower back, while the reflectory-acupuncture pair of protrusions is equipped with spikes.
At the top of at least one pair of massaging protrusions there are electrodes connected to the electronic unit of the apparatus, through which contact with the skin occurs to achieve various electric and thermal effects. Thus, the described analogues have a base with three pairs of massaging protrusions aimed at unloading the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. A significant disadvantage of the close analogues is that therapeutic massaging protrusions for the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine do not have the ability of adjustment to individual tone of the patient's paravertebral muscles, making it impossible to take into account individual characteristics of the patient's anatomy. Therapeutic massaging heads do not have a memory effect, which does not provide the necessary relaxation of the body without injuring the paravertebral muscle fibers. In the close analogues, it is not possible to move the device under the neck or back, which is especially important for individuals with poor flexibility or weakened motor functions. All these disadvantages of the close analogues do not allow to effectively relax spastic muscles and without injury to muscles stimulate deep paravertebral muscles with immersion of the massaging protrusions into the fibers of the strained muscle. It does not allow the massaging protrusions to adapt to the individual tone of the paravertebral muscles and prevents the possibility of adjustment to the individual anatomical features. The technical problem (objective) is to correct the functional state of the muscles of the spine and nervous system, the adjustment of the apparatus depending on the tone of the patient's muscles, development of a state of body relaxation and deep impact on the musculoligamentous apparatus of each spinal segment separately, aimed at eliminating spasms of deep paravertebral muscles, stimulation of restorative processes and normal mobility of spinal segments over a minimum number of sessions. In this case, the corrective effect should be suitable for individuals with different constitution, muscle tone, flexibility and degree of motor skill development (elderly or weakened). This task is solved by the fact that, according to the invention , device for complex spine treatment with a base, containing three pairs of therapeutic protrusions on this basis and a software control unit, has therapeutic protrusions with a memory effect, equipped with a controlled heating device. The apices of therapeutic protrusions are made of elastic material with a memory effect. 35 The device for controlled heating is made in the form of a built-in heating element and a control controller included in the software control unit. The base of the device is equipped with levers for voluntary movement. The levers are made with the ability to fasten in the base. Due to the fact that therapeutic massaging heads have a memory effect, for example, in a private case, their apices are made of an elastic material that has a memory effect (dependent point). In case of strained muscles of the spine, they slightly flatten under the muscles, which allows to conduct a comfortable therapeutic procedure on the spine, and as they relax the apices straighten with immersion in the fibers of the paravertebral muscles, providing their maximum relaxation without injury. Due to the "memory effect", the distance between the massaging heads and the area of their contact with the area of exposure along the spine changes, providing an individual adjustment according to the anatomical, biophysical and functional features of the spine and paravertebral muscles. This is important due to the common anatomical asymmetry of the spine in scoliosis, different tone of the muscles of the left and right side of a particular spine segment, presence of displacement or rotation of the vertebra. In addition, controlled heating of therapeutic massaging heads ensures a change in the softness of the protrusions or their apex and allows for thermal acupressure effect on the bioactive areas of the body, providing both better muscle relaxation and correction of the functional state of the body. The presence of levers, which can be removed from the base, allows individuals with poor flexibility or weakened motor functions to move the device along the back from the neck to the coccyx, installing it in the necessary position. Thus, the described invention ensures the achievement of the following technical result: improvement of the performance and safety of the effect. The essence of the invention is explained by drawings, where Fig. 1 and 2 present the appearance of the declared device for complex therapy of the spine from different sides, Fig. 3 is the schematic image inside of the device with levers and cover. The described device for complex therapy contains a base equipped with three pairs of protrusions: elastic reflectory-acupressure pair of therapeutic massaging heads 1 and two pairs of elastic acupuncture therapeutic massaging heads 2 and 3, developed for the thoracic and lumbar spine (Fig. 1, 2). 35 Two therapeutic massaging heads of the protrusions are made in the form of rounded cones 2 and 3, and one in the form of a rounded cube 1 with an arcuate base between them with a more than 26 mm concavity 4 relative to the massaging heads for insertion of the spinal processes (Fig. 1, 2). The height of elastic therapeutic massaging heads 1, 2 and 3 is more than 4 mm, the width of their base is more than 8 mm, and the minimum contact spot area when immersed in muscles is more than 80 mm. Elastic therapeutic massaging heads are equipped with controlled heating function through a controller included in the software control unit 6, battery 5 and heating elements 7, connected with unit 6 through wires 8 (Fig. 3) to change the softness of the massage heads and increase the intensity of acupressure stimulation. This allows to comfortably immerse the therapeutic massaging protrusions into the paravertebral muscles, to perform reflectory stimulation of proprioceptors and adjust (change shape and softness) them according to the individual muscle tone, ensuring more effective relaxation, in contrast to the "solid" analogues (patent of the Russian Federation No. 2465881 and patent of the Russian Federation No. 144668, patent of the Russian Federation No. 168180). The distance between the inner top points of therapeutic massaging heads for the cervical region is more than 26 mm, and this distance increases for the thoracic and lumbar region according to the golden ratio rule by approximately 1.6 due to the anatomy of these parts of the spine. Removable levers 9 installed in the base, are necessary for convenient movement of the device located under the patient's spine (Fig. 3). The software control unit 6 of the device also provides the necessary vibration modes by controlling the operation of the vibration motor 10. Elements 11 of the case allow to align the closure of the parts of the base and eliminate their possible shift due to the load of the patient’s body. The device is used as follows. From the sitting position, the patient lies back onto the device in such a way that the spinal processes are at the base of the pair of massaging heads 1, 2 or massaging protrusions of the device and remains in this position for 2—8 minutes depending on the state of the spine. In this position, the spine is in a slightly extended state, opposite to the pathological motor pattern. As a result, the spine is unloaded, the compression of the intervertebral disc or neurovascular bundle reduces and the muscle balance between the antagonist muscles is restored. Reflectory acupuncture massaging heads 1 can be used both for acupuncture effect on bioactive points of the neck as well as in other areas of the body, and therapeutic massaging heads 2 and 3 — for acupressure effect on different reflectory areas of the body. Through the body weight load on the protrusions 2 and 3 of the apparatus, pressure on the muscles of the back occurs, which contributes to the release of hypo- or hypertension of the muscles and their realization, on the one hand, and activation of regulatory and restorative processes in them. Muscular relaxation, fixed extension posture, body weight effect, reflectory acupuncture effect of spikes on protrusions 1, and the multifunctional effect of the apparatus on vertebral segments contribute to the release of pathological blocks from the vertebral motor segments and increase blood circulation to restore their functional state. Effect on reflectory areas along the spine allows to activate regulatory processes in the body. The device can be used from one to several times a day, 10—45 minutes per session, depending on the functional state of the spine and body. The device allows to increase the effectiveness of correction of disorders and dysfunctions of the spine and nervous system due to acupressure and relaxation of the deep muscles of the spine, correction of the position and posture and activation of recovery processes, to relieve pain, increase the amplitude of movements of the spinal column and accelerate regenerative processes within a short time period. It is easy to use, takes into account the functional state of an individual, the subject may adjust the degree of load by time, without the need of participation of medical staff. The device allows to prevent diseases of the spine, overload and to correct postural disorders. The device can be used most effectively in medicine (prevention and treatment institutions, outpatient clinics), fitness centers, health centers, at home and in sports — based on corrective, therapeutic and rehabilitation effects.
