Description

OVDA- 100-IL-16 ROLL-UP SHUTTER WITH OPENABLE SLATS AND MECHANISM THEREFOR Technical Field The present invention relates to shutter systems. More particularly, the present invention relates to roll-up shutter systems with openable slats that can allow the passage of air and light.
Background Prior art roller shutter systems typically comprise slats, a roller tube (i.e. a spindle) for rolling the slats, a rotor (or manual lever) for winding the roller tube, and guides in which the sides of the slats slide during raising and lowering.
In some cases an electric motor is typically inserted in the roller tube and attached to it. The motor is typically operated and controlled from a pushbutton panel, or a remote controller. In other cases a mechanical device, such as linkage rods with ball joint heads or equivalent solutions, can be used for winding the roller tube and the rolling slats.
Typically, the raising of the slats is performed by hooking elements, which cooperate with the hooking elements on the slats, and which connect the individual slats to each other vertically when they move in the vertical direction during raising and lowering of the shutter curtain.
OVDA- 100-IL-16 IL 37506 discloses rolling shutters with automatically turning and blocked slats. The publication describes a system of rolling shutters and blinds, composed of a number of horizontal, parallel spaced, adjustable slats, which are joined at each end with chains or bands moving in fixed vertical rails; the described shutters are rolled up around a roll, placed above the rails. Nevertheless, the described system is limited.
EP 2722475 discloses a roller shutter, comprising metallic slats, which has a structure and a mechanism for tilting the slats in addition to rolling up or rolling down the shutter curtain like a traditional roller blind, using an electric motor or mechanical devices able to rotate the roller tube of the shutter curtain. The described roller shutter comprises a fixed supporting frame comprising two guide channels shaped to enable the vertical sliding of a roller curtain comprising a plurality of slats which can be tilted simultaneously by a mechanism operated by the roller tube. The described roller tube is attached to the masonry structure above the opening where the roller shutter is inserted and is connected by a drive mechanism to a source of rotary power which rotates the roller and thereby enables rolling and unrolling of the shutter curtain on the roller tube. However, the described roller shutter is costly.
It would therefore be desired to propose a system void of these deficiencies.
Summary It is an object of the present invention to propose a roller shutter system which can be rolled up and down like a traditional roller blind and where its slats can be tilted and opened, in order to allow the passage of air and light.
OVDA- 100-IL-16 It is another object of the present invention to propose a durable roller shutter system which can be installed for wide openings.
It is still another object of the present invention to propose a cost effective roller shutter system which can be rolled up and down and where some of its slats can be opened and closed when the roller shutter system is rolled down.
It is still another object of the present invention to propose a durable roller shutter system having tiltable slats.
Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent as the description proceeds.
The present invention relates to a roller shutter system, for wide openings, having tiltable slats, for allowing the passage of air and light, comprising: (a) at least one structure of said shutter system, comprising: (i) a plurality of connecting rungs, for maintaining the integrity of said structure of said roller shutter system; (ii) at least one tiltable slats, operably connected between two adjacent rows of said rungs, which can be tilted, in relations to said structure of said shutter system, for allowing the passage of air and light, while said shutter system structure is lowered down; (b) a spindle for rolling said structure of said shutter system; and (c) at least two vertical side shutter- guide members shaped to enable the vertical sliding of said structure of said roller shutter system during raising and lowering.
Preferably, the roller shutter system further comprises end caps, which house the slats rotation elements that are located at the ends of said slat rows.
OVDA- 100-IL-16 In some embodiments, the slat rotation elements house a slat rotation mechanism, which is operably connected to a tiltable slat.
In some embodiments, the roller shutter system can be installed in openings wider than 1.6 meters.
In some embodiments, the roller shutter system can be installed in openings greater than 3 meters.
Preferably, rung is assembled from one or more profiles, made of aluminum, metal, plastic, or wood.
Preferably, the tiltable slat is assembled from one or more profiles, made of aluminum, metal, plastic, or wood.
In one embodiment, the tiltable slats are tilted electrically.
In one embodiment, the tiltable slats are tilted manually.
In one embodiment, the tiltable slats are tilted using a protrusion.
