Description

250279/2 TITLE TRAFFIC INSPECTION SYSTEM TECHNICAL FIELD The invention relates to the field of traffic inspection systems.
BACKGROUND The term "automated traffic ticket" refers herein to a traffic ticket produced by automated means, i.e. not by a policeman placed at the site of the traffic violation.
An automated traffic ticket includes a photograph or a video of the traffic violation.
However, nowadays, the automated traffic ticket must include an additional photograph containing the plate number of the violating vehicle, for providing evidence.
CN104269051 discloses a sensor set on the road for detecting traffic violations. However, the sensor is disposed at a certain location only.
There is a long felt need to provide a solution to the above-mentioned and other problems of the prior art.
SUMMARY 250279/2 In one aspect, the invention is directed to a traffic inspection system (10), including:- a camera (50A, 50B), for being placed in/on each inspected vehicle (12A, 12B) and aligned to capture a field of view (18) conforming to a field of view (18) of a driver of the inspected vehicle (12A, 12B);- a transmitter (22), for transmitting a signal (52A) including at least a file (56A, 56B) including at least a photograph or video (58) captured by the camera (50A, 50B); and- a server (32), for communicating (54A, 54B) with the driver as a function of violating traffic rules, analyzed from the file (56A, 56B).
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS Embodiments, features, and aspects of the invention are described herein in conjunction with the following drawings: Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a vehicle having a front camera, within a traffic inspection system according to one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 2 is a top view of the vehicle of Fig. 1.
Fig. 3 depicts the traffic inspection system of Fig. 1.
Fig. 4 depicts the contents of the transmitted file, according to the event example of Fig. 1. 250279/2 The drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION The invention will be understood from the following detailed description of embodiments of the invention, which are meant to be descriptive and not limiting. For the sake of brevity, some well-known features are not described in detail.
The reference numbers have been used to point out elements in the embodiments described and illustrated herein, in order to facilitate the understanding of the invention. They are meant to be merely illustrative, and not limiting. Also, the foregoing embodiments of the invention have been described and illustrated in conjunction with systems and methods thereof, which are meant to be merely illustrative, and not limiting.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of a vehicle having a front camera, within a traffic inspection system according to one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 2 is a top view of the vehicle of Fig. 1.
A traffic inspection system 10 according to one embodiment of the invention includes a device 20A, including a camera 50, installed to vehicle 12A. Camera 50 is directed to the front of the vehicle.
Camera 50 constantly records the front of vehicle, for capturing traffic violations of the driver. 250279/2 For instance, Fig. 1 shows camera 50 viewing traffic violation, by showing a stop traffic sign 14, expected to be viewed by the driver, while the vehicle is yet advancing.
Device 20A further includes a transmitter 22.
Traffic inspection system 10 is based on a duty and obligation of the driver to place camera 50 and to align it to capture the field of view 18, being expected that the driver views. Device 20A may constitute the driver's smartphone. For example, the law or the insurance terms may read that the vehicle is not insured while camera 50 does not transmit the field of view of the driver.
Fig. 3 depicts the traffic inspection system of Fig. 1.
Transmitter 22 of device 20A is intended for allowing vehicle 20A to transmit a signal 52A containing a file 56A of the captured picture or video, to a server or inspection center 32; and a transmitter 22 of a device 20B is intended for allowing vehicle 20B to transmit a signal 52B containing a file 56B of a different captured picture, as well to inspection center 32.
At the next step, traffic inspection system 10 may produce an automated traffic ticket 54A or another communication, containing file 56A, to the address 38A of the owner of vehicle 12A; and an automated traffic ticket 54B, containing file 56B, to the address 38B of the owner of vehicle 12B. 250279/2 However, files 56A and 56B of automated traffic tickets 54A and 54B respectively, cannot contain the plate numbers, due to the photographing direction explained in Figs. 1 and 2.
Fig. 4 depicts the contents of the transmitted file, according to the event example of Fig. 1.
The solution is that file 56A provided by device 20A may include, except for the photograph or video 58, also identification details 60 of device 20A.
Referring again to Fig. 3, similarly, file 56B provided by device 20A may include, except for the photograph or video, also identification details of device 20B.
In order to enhance the evidence, the transmittance from device 20A to inspection center 32 may be encrypted.
File 56A may further contain date 62, time 64 and the location, for instance by X־Y coordinates 66, which naturally change for a video.
Signal 52A may include, except for file 56A, also information 68A containing identification details 60 of device 20A.
Information 68A accompanies traffic inspection system in sorting the files, by automatically obtaining the owner of vehicle 12A and the address 38A thereof, without requiring analyzing the photograph of file 56A.
Signal 52A may further include the additional details 62, 64 and 66. 250279/2 Thus, in one aspect, the invention is directed to a traffic inspection system (10), including:- a camera (50A, SOB), for being placed in/on each inspected vehicle (12A, 12B) and aligned to capture a field of view (18) conforming to a field of view (18) of a driver of the inspected vehicle (12A, 12B);- a transmitter (22), for transmitting a signal (52A) including at least a file (56A, 56B) including at least a photograph or video (58) captured by the camera (50A, 0B); and- a server (32), for communicating (54A, 54B) with the driver as a function of violating traffic rules, analyzed from the file (56A, 5GB).
The file (56A, 56B) may further include identification details (60) of the transmitter (22),thereby the file (56A) may associate the at least transmitted photograph or video (58) to the identification details (60) of the transmitter (22).
The signal (56A, 56B) further includes identification details (60) of the transmitter (22),thereby the signal (52A) may associate the at least transmitted photograph or video (58) to the identification details (60) of the transmitter (22).
The signal (56A, 56B) may be transmitted encrypted, thereby the at least transmitted photograph or video (58) and the identification details (60) of the transmitter (22) are encrypted together. ר 250279/2 In the figures and/or description herein, the following reference numerals (Reference Signs List) have been mentioned: ־ numeral 10 denotes the traffic inspection system, according to one embodiment of the invention;־ numerals 12A and 12B denote vehicles;־ numeral 14 denotes a traffic sign;־ numeral 16 the field of view of the driver;־ numerals 20A and 20B denote devices, each including at least a camera and a transmitter;־ numeral 22 denotes a transmitter;־ numeral 24 denotes a location finder, such as a GPS, for providing location information 66;־ numeral 26 denotes a clock, for providing date and time information 62 and 64 respectively;־ numeral 28 denotes an acceleration sensor, for providing additional information regarding traffic rules violation;־ numeral 30 denotes the internet;־ numeral 32 denotes a server;־ numeral 34 denotes a printer;־ numeral 36 denotes a printed ticket;־ numerals 38A and 38B denote physical or electronic addresses;־ numerals 50A and 50B denote cameras;־ numerals 52A and 52B denote transmitted signals,־־ numerals 56A and 56B denote files contained in the signals;״ numeral 60 denotes identification details of the device, such as phone number of the smartphone;
